Stephen Butcher is new Mason County coach

Featured Replies

I stated this in an earlier thread. Trust me when I say this...Pike County Central's loss is Mason County's gain: not only in an awesome coach, but a wonderful wife and family who will put their heart and soul into the program.

Mason County Lady Royals need a little shot in heart and soul area!

This is a win-win situation for both Coach Butcher and Mason County. Coach Butcher will do an excellent job at Mason County.

After listening to the coach speak at his press conference I am happy for the program getting someone outside of the local area to come in and put some spark into the program. But also I feel sorry for the Seniors who have graduated the past the past 3 or 4 years because if this change would have been made then our girls would maybe had at least a couple of Regional Titles instead of runner-up trophies. Good Luck to you Coach Butcher!

I knew this was coming.:rolleyes:

But I do wish Coach Butcher the best of luck.

Coach Buser is a nice person.

She was not the best coach for the talent that Mason had.

If Coach Butcher is as he seems to be, putting a very talented coach at Mason harkens back to the Coach Hutchinson days when Mason had some very nice runs.

LBBC, with you being a former coach, do you think you could have took the talent to the Sweet 16? We all hear about talent and yes you have to have some, but the game is won far beyond that.

Agree with all of your post. This is probably one the best hires Mason County has made for any sport and also wish it had came 4 years ago

In my opinion and I firmly believe this:

Had LBBC been the coach of the Mason County Lady Royals the last four years, they would have at least one Sweet-16 appearance and probably more!

I would put my mortgage on that!!!

Wow:eek: When I asked the question, I was not wagering or doubting abilities, but Tubbycat, putting a mortgage on it is huge. Glad to see loyalty in folks from PC land. I know you know basketball as well. Often if your able to win just one, who knows what could come afterwards in the years to follow. Takes many things more than talent to win to get to the big stage. Several things must fall into place. Staying free of injury, bench play, sticky defense all must come into play. One other thing, some luck as well. I am glad that you have the backing of a fellow PC man in LBBC. Loyalty means a lot to me:thumb:

Congrats first to coach Buser on a good career, it could never be easy being in the shadows of the mega giant boys team. Congrats now to coach Butcher, your now in a basketball loving communitiy that may be the craziest in the State as far as love for the game. The Mason Co. middle schools are loaded with young talented girls. With that said the St. Patrick lady Saints will be a force, with a feeder system that has developed some excepetional fine young players and a very dedicated coach. Good luck next year Royals and God Bless!
