Great job by Lenae and Kendell both. It was a great year for the Ladycats. Kendell will get to be an All-Stater next year. She is only in 8th grade anyway. Many more years to come with this youger talent.:dancingpa

Congratulations to Rachel Vanderhoof and Chelsea Williams on representing the 16th region. Two very deserving and very talented players. Rachel you have made Raceland very proud. And Chelsea the same for Menifee County. Congrats young ladies. And congrats to all who made the All-State team.

No Behrens from Boone, Weaver from Holmes or Hodge from Conner. Shortchanging NKY when these girls clearly deserve at the very least Honorabe Mention ruins all creditability that the Herald may have. These 3 young ladies are clearly as good or better then several named to this so called All-State team IMO..

Totally agree. How about Tolliver (SK) and Hargett (WV)? Looks like NKY got totally left out.

I would bet that a lot of coaches don't bother to vote as the Herald is not as far reaching as the Courier Journal. Maybe they don't get that paper so they don't care as much.

 

I would also think that Jones from South Oldham would be another player worth mentioning and I agree with Tolliver, Behrens, and Hargett as well.

Believe it or not, HJ, I have to agree w/the bold. NKY is always left out when it comes to all state voting and that is in every sport.

 

I can say I have seen all but one of the first team players and I don't think any of the NKY kids can break that list. However, only seeing 3 of the second team players I would think we could get one player on the second team or at least Hon Mention.

 

As I said before, all star teams and all state lists are a joke. There will always be someone left out in someone's eyes. This is part of athletics, altough it is sad but it will never change. Think about it, the Jones girl from S Oldham doesn't get mentioned but I believe she makes the KY/IN All Star team, go figure. She is one of the best pure shooters I have seen.

OMG, Mackenzie Lee, from Montgomery Co. isn't on the list anywhere? They should shred the list if she is not one the top players in the state, to not mention her as an honorable mention is making a mockery of having such list!:lol:
