At least the forecast is calling for the rain to stop in the early afternoon. This will definitely make it better for the senior night festivities.

Was at the Kiwanis Bowl and the field was a mess. Hopefully the rain we will be getting and have got will be spread out over time which will allow it to drain some but we must expect muddy conditions so all of the work of you and the rest of the paint crew will go mostly unnoticed. The pregame activities and game will be much more enjoyable if it were to hold off even if only for a few hours.

Same here. I remember those J.F.L. days. But I just hope his mother and I can hold our emotions together for this senior night.

This should be a tough game, but I think Ashland will pull it out. Unfortunately this will be the last year this game has playoff implications as the new class system takes effect, but maybe after two years it will be back, although both will still play each other. I really don't like being in different districts with the 'County' as it was always a fun week. Hopefully the weather will stay dry on Friday as I think Ashland wins this game by a touchdown.

Raceland will be too much for Fairview and will win this game after and emotional start by the Eagles and win by 21 points.

I believe Mason to be the stronger of these two teams and will win this ballgame. Mason Co 20 - Lawrence Co 14.

These teams are coming on at the right time. This appears to be a very good ballgame Friday night. I think Boyd Co will win in a close one 21-20.

In Ashland's game last night the back official made the Ashland band quit playing just as the play was about to start. I could see where this would be a hinderance to the offense but Ashland was on offense and at home. As far as the subject at hand, I agree that the announcer should not be calling play by play while it unfolds as this IMO could influence the actions of the players on the field, but as far as what he says before and after the play, that is another story within reason of course. And no, I am not a Campbell Co hater either.

I agree, the first string was in for half of the fourth quarter, however, Ashland did play at least 6 D-linemen the entire time. And Chris Hall, a starter on D didn't play at all the entire 2nd half and Tyler Slone who played all of the first 6 games was out as was Michael Walters, the Cats biggest and strongest offensive lineman played none of the 2nd half as well. So a lot of new people saw alot of playing time last night.

Both had a good game, but Mahan was a little indecisive a few times that led to incompletions and a couple of interceptions. But there were no fumbles, :thumb: at least on his part tonight. :irked:

Michael's back problem (bulging discs) flared up on him again in the first half and kept him out of the remainder of the ballgame. Had ice on it the entire second half along with a cortisone shot during halftime but the coaching staff decided to keep him out for the rest of the ballgame.

And for twenty-some of these kids, their high school careers will be over in about a month, so now is the time for them to really start to think about improving and making a run deep in the playoffs because twenty years from now they will look back and (1) wish they were playing still and/or (2) wish they would have worked a little harder and thought about what was happening at this time of their life which is the best time of your life.

Good win for the Lions, I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the playoffs.

Good road win for the Cats in this tough battle. I thought Ashland came out flat in the first half but really raised the bar in the second as they outscore the Royals 14 - 0. The defense was really hitting hard in the second half with a couple of big hits on the Mason Co offense. Hope the injured players are OK. Ashland is still making way too many mental errors at this point of the season like the fumbled snaps and dropped balls and missed tackles, but give them credit, they never stopped playing even with their backs to the wall.

Ashland looks to rebound from a tough game with Mason Co. with an easy win over Lawrence Co. I don't look for the score to be much different than Greenup Co. Ashland 42 - Lawrence Co 7 .

I don't believe the players are looking ahead. Most know what can happen if you don't take care of the task at hand (Raceland). I think they know that JC will be a very tough game but most of the talk from Ashland concerning this game I believe is coming from the fans.

I agree. Ashland's first game this season was unfortunately a learning experience, at least personel wise. No offense to Raceland, which has a fine team and a strong program, but this Ashland team is not the same team that played in that first game both by players positions and their level of confidence. I only hope that Ashland can keep up the momentum that they have been riding and carry it on into the deeper rounds of the playoffs.

I don't see this game as a close one. If JC is as good as everyone is saying they are, then they should beat GC by at least 7 touchdowns.

You gotta love all the big boys up front, they have come a long way over the last couple of years. :thumb:

With the new coaching staff, I believe Boyd Co will only improve as the season progresses assuming all of the kids keep buying into his system.
