  1. Birds need to settle in and play some better run D.
  2. I agree with you, but some folks around the state don't because of a close one against a very talented Bryan Station team....HHS claims another one this year in the Ville!:ylsuper:
  3. BTW, great teams figure out ways to win even when outplayed , outhustled, out game planned, and out talented.........HHS was all that against Station and then some..........and still WON the game.... Heres to a great game Friday between two teams worthy of the hype...may the better team win.......GO BIRDS!:thumb:
  4. Well, we'll see how top teams play Friday night won't we........If and stress IF HHS blows out JC will you still say the same thing? or will you say, like I do, every great team gets their gut check on the way to a Championship and Station was that for HHS.........only time will tell if HIGHLANDS is a top team.:argue:
  5. Colerain and Elder were neck and neck as to being the best team in Cincinnati and probablyl the best team in Ohio this year( Colerain took Elder into overtime last week in their Division 1 showdown last week in the Semis in Ohio.) Colerain would put up 500+ on ANY team in Ky, and probably 1000+ on any team not Named Trinity, St. X, or Highlands.........believe it! If you think HHS might not be one of the top two or three teams in the State up until now, Well, I think your kidding yourself!!!! We shall see Friday night as I also believe this is the 5A championship game!!:ylsuper:
  6. I've heard this rumor before also. Honestly though, why would they want Crable other than a big name. He had everything he needed at his Alma Mater at Moeller, and still couldn't pull of the big wins needed to keep his job there. He had numbers, support, money (althought not their own field!), tradition (past National Champs in the 80's) and was an afterthought year after year next to Colerain and Elder! I don't think that would be a smart move.....they might as well go after Mike Wolfe and pray he is still interested after shunning him all these years....good luck CC.......(Not REALLY!)
  7. Lets not forget that this was the first big game without Mr. Football candidate Josh Conner at their disposal, just as it has been all season. If Mr. Conner gets his game legs under him finally and get the passing game kickin, it will be lights out from her on out against anyone left in the way....Don't forget Josh ran for over 1700 yds. as a junior and is just now coming back from a major injury...... HHS, I believe has yet to put together a complete game on both sides of the ball.........just my opinion. It will be scary when they do.....and they will before the end of year imo.
  8. JC will definitely get the respect they have earned from the Birds...You don't do what HHS does year in and year out by not respecting your opponents this late in the season. To think differently would tell me that someone does not understand how HH S continues its success year after year...after year....after year...........
  9. After next week we won't have to take what Station has to say about it. We'll know.....and so will the rest of the state....The Birds are coming to Johnsonville show them!....:thumb:
  10. I'm going over to Sweeps to borrow my camo for the HHS/ASHLAND game.
  11. Mrs. stickmitts is way too busy for our shenanigans and the brothers have way too much time on their hands.......
  12. Are you now saying we have to regularly schedule Trinity, St. X, Male , Colerain, Cincy Elder, Covcath and a host of other good teams, all while playing up 3 classes mind you, just so we can continue our history of arrogance!........man that's asking alot........even for us......but that's ok, we'll just keep on keepin on.......what does not kill you only makes you better football program:thumb:
  13. unbelievable:confused:
  14. Birds took the best of what an incredibly athletic team had to offer on a very, very off night and came out with a hard fought victory. They will not be challenged for the remainder of the season, including the Finals. Not trying to sound arrogant, overly confident or whatever, but they had what every great team needs tonight and that was a big wake up call, mark it down.
  15. What is scary is the fact that HHS is doing all this without what was going to be their main running threat and Mr. Football candidate in Josh Conner. His fellow backs have done an excellent job, but if he were playing they might just be undefeated and without a doubt the best team in the state at this point!......we'll probably never know just how good this team could have been. ......Oh well.....a ring will have to suffice.
  16. Sounds to me that among common opponents the Birds and Tigers are very equal.....
  17. They will both run the ball and throw it very successfully against everyone in 5A this year. :thumb:
  18. You guys are killing me!
  19. you would probably have to see him play to understand how good he truly is.....he's a true shut down corner if I've ever seen one.......he plays both sides of the ball and special teams as good as any high school athelete I've ever seen.....and he's only a junior!
  20. I think he's making a bold prediction there Sticky!
  21. Your correct, but he would not have been a last round pick today as there were not as many rounds of the draft then. 8 years and a superbowl ring, and a fat NFL pension later, I would have to say his career went rather well. BTW, I was talking about his speed in hs and college. His speed was good enough in college to become a all conference player (1st team I believe) in the toughtest conference in college. He also got caught behind one of the best Lb's in the league in Willie McGinnest most of his career.:thumb:
