  1. You must have some inside info Arrupster, because all my contacts are mum on the issue. Will you be attending the game tommorrow evening?
  2. I'm not so sure playing 3 games in a such a short time frame did not have something to do with with the Birds losing.....I'm not making excuses, but it sure would be nice to play them fresh and with a longer time to game prep. Anyone who does not think that playing 3 games on 4-5 days to rest and prepare is crazy, well I don't know what to tell you, because it is.That being said, I look for a much different game come playoff time between these two teams. That being said, congratulations to the Raiders on a good victory.
  3. Did the Baby Birds play Ryle 3 or 4 days after their last game?....If so, I can see why they lost a close game. Did both teams play on the 3rd and then again on the 6th? If so, the AD's at these schools need to get their heads out of their behinds.
  4. I think I share your sentiments Arrupster. The whole world? I think that may be stretching it a bit, and I think both of these high schools have many great academic programs in place to help out even those children that have special needs. My cousin was one of them at Beechwood.:thumb:
  5. Sounds like someone is not going to enjoy watching this game too much. You better not attend the game this week Jason, because I have a feeling there is not going to be much the Birds won't be able to against the Tigers this year.:idunno:
  6. I'm simply hurt Thunderbird, and I have to displace my outrage some way, and here is as good a place as any I guess.......lol!
  7. I respect Beechwood and their coaches, program and football community a tremendous amount, but, if you really think HHS is any way fearful or leary of playing them ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, well, your simply delusional. I don't care if the Tigers beat the Birds Freddies 5 times in a row, Dale would play them in a parking lot if need be.
  8. Wow, did not expect that kind of O from the Tigers! Great effort and win boys.:ylsuper:
  9. His Dad. Then played a year each for the Colts, and then the Bears I think.
  10. I am tough. The amount of talent on this team, coupled with the speed, strength and offseason training, I thought they would be off to the races early this season. IMO, so far, it's not showing and AC said as much in the paper this morning. The players obviously expected more and I think THEY are a little let down so far. A win is a win I guess, but the effort so far this season will not be one that takes them to an undefeated season. It will be a one loss season, and I think most Bird fans know who that loss will be to. With that being said, I think Dale and Co. will get it done over the next few weeks and step up the intensity in practice and against the Tigers.
  11. You may be correct, but there is one more game this year between these teams. We'll see who improves more. I think I know who will!:thumb:
  12. HHS just took the Raiders to school and stopped their tough run game. But Oscar is right; the Birds just are not clicking on offense as I expected so far this season--not compared to the reports on the offseason passing game, expected to send the scoreboard into overdrive. I'd take last season's offense over this one...SO FAR. I think that is due to change soon. It better, or I think ST. X will beat up on the Birds. :irked:
  13. No reason to hit the panic button Bird fans.......Going into the Ville and playing a very respectable team at home and getting the W is nothing to be worried about....it just shows there is work to get done, and Dale is the master of getting it done......and he will. Good win BIRDS. Get to work ASAP, and show em what you got next week.:thumb:
  14. I spoke to three RYLE coaches today and a couple players (starters both). While you may not believe the hype, it occurred to me today that THEY indeed thought Bardo was going to be awfully good. I'm sure they relish the thought of playing such competition twice!:thumb:
  15. If Bardo throws for 4 TD's and runs for 2 against your D will you believe the hype then?.......just asking.....what does he have to do to live up to the "Hype", because there are many people, not just HHS fans, that believe Bardo is the real deal already and 5A might just be a 3 month farewell tour for the HHS Seniors. I don't personally think that, but the GURU himself says Bardo is already playing at mid-season form. Seriously thought, what does the Bardo kid have to do to become a legit D1 candidate in your eyes, since all the HHS fans have blinders on.
  16. NCBIRD, would that make him the fastest guy on the team?
  17. Coach Strong is the man with those young men and is doing a great job. They will be prepared for the season.:ylsuper: Glad to hear this....They will need strong, fast, dedicated young men to consistently compete in this very tough 1A district, but you have to believe me when I tell you, the young men at WV are in for a very new football experience with coach Barth....It won't be enough to be strong....SPEED is the name of the game in HS now and Coach Barth is well aware of this....lookout for more speed and stamina training, not just weight room time.....Developing a top notch FB program starts in the weight room, but it is only the beginning. WV hasn't seen anything yet.....but they will!
  18. While Beau is not from Bellevue, he grew up about 3 minutes up Covert Run in Ft. Thomas.....I believe he also played Jr. league football for the Tigers growing up for a couple of years along with some other kids in his neighborhood.....He does know the history of Bellevue and its athletic teams and all about the great pride the citizens take in their children and their Tiger athletes.....Not all that different than Ft. Thomas I suspect where he excelled as a basketball player through lots of hard work in the gym and his backyard.....he wasn't the most gifted of athletes (SORRY BEAU!), but he worked his butt off to play and start for a very good HHS squad during his playing time in HS.....He knows how hard it is to excel and become better through hard work and practice. If he was not the right choice because he is not FROM Bellevue than they will get what they have always gotten....a mediocre program with an occasional good season....not what they deserve which is a great coach with a passion and enthusiasm to take them to the top of the all A Class......give him a break and a chance!
  19. BTW.......WV better get ready for conditioning and weight training the likes those kids have NEVER seen before.....If I know Jeff, and I do, those boys are in for work and discipline like they can't imagine......but it will all pay off for those young men with victory and valueable life lessons....Good Luck Bearcats.......Jeff is tough, but a good man to have teach and coach your young men and students.
  20. I'm assuming it is Jeff Barth, whom I believe is a 95 Highlands grad and a graduate of Hanover college were he was a lineman I believe......He is a great guy and loves to be around the kids and teach....I know he was a teacher in Indiana for a while I think after college and then came back up here and was teaching in NKY.......I grew up with him and his brother Eric playing football in the neighborhood....His dad is a longtime HS football ref in NKY....great family........CONGRATS JEFF......If that is in fact who WV got, they got a good one!:thumb:
  21. Don't overlook the newly coached Bellevue Tigers...Coach Menefee will be installing his trademark tough man to man D I'm sure and everyone knows D wins games.....Bellevue will be scrappy on D and fast on offense under Coach M......Go Tigers!
  22. Congrats to Coach Menefee and to Bellevue for doing right by their kids....Beau LOVES the game and really enjoys teaching kids and is excited about the oppurtunity......Go Tigers!:thumb:
  23. RIP Bruce............I can remember everyone shouting BRUUUUUUCE!, when he came into the gym with that blue and white wig on.....it was always fun to watch him during games....he will be missed.
