  1. Collinsworth not even on the Final Ballot.....You can't be Serious. I hope HHS gets up about 40 in their Championship game and keeps letting AC pound it in to win by 70. Mr. Football is a joke this year. I actually feel bad for all the candidates on the ballot, because they will know who is actually the best all around player in the State, and the award is, unfortunately, cheapened by leaving AC off the ballot. You can win the Hornung award and not be on the Mr. Football ballot.....amazing stuff, really.
  2. I didn't think Adrian Peterson was suiting up for JH this coming Friday. Come on. Nothing wrong with predicting a win for your team, but at least keep it real. nobody has put 32 on the Birds yet this year and your predicting a 5 TD performance in a Championship game?
  3. Why don't they ask some students to help get it up and running. They probably know more than the Administrators. Seriously. Make it a project with a grade for the kids involved in the new Communications track they have been designing. All that money on the new communications suite and they can't get together a webcast? Weak. Very Weak.
  4. I answer some of my own questions sometimes also. Don't worry, it's a sign of intelligence according to myself.
  5. Very strong Runner with good speed. That describes the current Abner playing for the Birds. Hmmmm. Doesn't sound like the previous Abner's that played for the Birds back in the day though....lol!
  6. This one will be ugly. Quickly. Their D might have improved enough to keep them in some games late in the season. This won't be some game. This will be a track meet with Pulaski never leaving the starting block. That is all. Carry on.
  7. I have to say that I was impressed with JC's running game tonight. I think they run their offense about as good as I've ever seen a team run on HHS in recent memory. That being said, the game came out about as I predicted and depth and speed ended up being the deciding factor in the game. IF JC were to come up with any passing game at all and improve their overall team speed, they could very much be a factor down the road in the next few years. They have solid coaches, good fan support, some good solid football players and I have heard they have some good facilities in down there. Congrats to the Eagles and Coach Matney on a great season. I'm sure we'll be hearing from them again next season. You ran into a buzz saw tonight and earned respect from the Birds once again. Till next time, keep working hard in the off season.
  8. Come on now JB, I have a good respect for JC, but I don't hardly think they qualify to be put in the same categorie as Cincy St. X, or any other GCL south team for that matter. They are on two completely different levels both as a program and a team.:idunno:
  9. Let's hope not for the sake of the young man in question. I don't know how calling out a high school kid like this in a public forum is appropriate in your view. The only people that should be questioning the kid's dedication and work ethic at this point are his parents, Mr. Menefee and his teamates. Unless your one of those people, you should not make comments like that in this forum. Like it or not it's inappropriate at best.
  10. BOOOOOOOOO!......NO UC Please AC!:puke:
  11. Well, step one was hiring a new, younger B-Ball coach that is excited and motivated to get the Tigers on the right track!
  12. Your correct, and how many of those coaches stayed long enough to see that come to fruition. NONE!....That's my point. I believe the new coach will be around long enough to see some of the success other coaches lacked at Bellevue. He has to get the talent out of the halls and playgrounds in Bellevue and get them in the gym. Bellevue has just as much talent, maybe even more, roaming the halls as any of the better small school basketball teams talked about in this thread. It will take hard work and dedication, no doubt, to make this happen. I have faith that the new coach will make this happen, but it is a marathon, not a race to build a solid foundation for any high school sport. I think with Mr. Menefee, they finally have gotten right in Tigerland. JMO.
  13. Absolutely. If Championships are not your goal, then you better find some other line of work, other than coaching. There are many types of Championships to win at Bellevue. Be it a holiday tournament Championship, a small school ALL A Championship, a Conference and Regional Championship, District Championship, and so on. If those were not some of Mr. Menefee's goals as head coach at Bellevue, then I think is his tenure at Bellevue would be short lived. But I know him just well enough to tell you those are some of his goals for the Tiger Basketball team!
  14. I would be willing to bet Mr. Menefee stays long enough to experience some success that is long overdue in Tigerland. He's from here (Ft. Thomas) and is staying here. Unlike some of the previously hired coaches. Mr. Menefee is probably looking to have some long-term success in both his teaching and coaching career right here in NKY. Again, unlike some of the previously hired coaches.:thumb::thumb:
  15. I understand, but I think a new, younger coach, whom I know for a FACT really wants to be there to build a program to compete for championships would bring out a few new faces. Besides, basketball on the small school level is not like a football program where you have to have a 10-15 good athletes or more. You only need a 2-3 good basketball players and a handfull of roll players to really see the difference in a program. You can't tell me there are not a few good ball players in all of Bellevue. I think Coach Menefee will get some of these kids and make some noise sooner than expected. I hope so for the school and the community both.:ylsuper:
  16. WHy no love for the Bellevue Tigers....They have a new, young coach this year who wants badly to get the Tigers turned around and make some noise in the district this year. Bellevue has always had some good athletes on campus and I'm sure coach Menefee will be adding some new wrinkles to the Tigers game plans. The succes Bellevue is enjoying in other sports, Football specifically, should help to get some of the interest lost in Tiger basketbll in the recent past back. I know the new coach has been putting the word out that he intends to bring a fun, fast paced style to the court that should help to get some of the better ball players interested in playing for the Tiger basketball team. I hope to catch a game this year early to see what the new coach is bringing to the table this year. I hope other Tiger fans do the Same. GO TIGERS!
  17. Maybe he has your mind tapped! scarey thought.
  18. Please explain what you mean by that Mex.
  19. That's it. I've had it. As a Highlands fan I want, No I DEMAND a indoor practice facility for our Bluebirds. IF you can beat em, join em I say!
  20. Didn't Cincy St. X just absolutley destroy Trinity a month ago or so. I believe HHS just beat Cincy St. X a couple weeks ago, and everyone there knows the game was not as close as the score would indicate. It only serves as a possibilty that HHS could feasibly beat Trinity by 40 or more IF they played. To say that the poster is being silly is in fact silly.....Two weeks ago at this time people were saying it was silly to believe HHS could beat St. X, but they in fact beat them up and down the field in every way. I guess it's not such a silly statement after all.:idunno:
  21. So having 3-4 division 1 players on one squad, along with a host of other very good players AND they play well as a team does not make them the best team in the State of Ky. Man, I would like to see a better team in this state....They would be better than UK or UL. Your a tough hombre to impress.
  22. It may have been HHS National Championship, Super Bowl, whatever, but Specht is also downplaying this loss, as he should, because he also wants a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, like Dale does. It just won't be this year thanks to HHS! Any loss, and your probably out, but a State title is still possible and he is prepping his boys for their playoff run by shrugging off a loss to a VERY good HHS team......exactly what I would do if I were him.:thumb:
  23. If his injury allows him to still carry the ball or play with some sort of cast or wrap on, it's feasible to assume he might play some defense or run the ball, as he is still one of the fastest guys on the team. That's alot of assuming on my part though..............Or is it?
  24. It might also be the fact that every INCH counted in the X game. Every down was played with that intensity. That is not the case when playing Dixie and HHS knew that they could just flat out outscore them when need be. Good defenses rise to challenges like HHS did against X.
  25. With all due respect hoosierbird, I seriously doubt Arrupster is giving away any secrets, and I promise you, he is WELL aware of what parents , teachers and coaches should reveal about student atheletes....trust me!
