I work with old Ky post photos and came across this one I thought CovCath and Highlands fans/ex-players might like to see.

 

Pic is of John Darpel looking downfield for a receiver against Highlands. Sorry, don't have names of the rest of the players but the numbers are visible. Date the photo was in the Ky post was 12-2-82. I'm assuming the actual game was around the same date but not sure.

This was likely from the 13-7 OT Playoff game won by HHS. It was played ~ the first week of Nov. 1982. It was the first playoff game between HHS & Cov Cath

These are from memory because I am too lazy to look them up. I think they are right.

What was the decal on the HHS helmet? is it an H with wings? Also looks like they have the same logo as "Bluejay" buses on the left shoulder. Thanks for the pic.

I can play this game.

One Nasty Defense!!!! The defensive ends were pretty much left to crash the QB on every play. That's how good their interior line and linebacker play was. We have that picture somewhere in a scrap book. It was a dandy of a night!!!

The question on the pic is where's Fish #63? He was the noseguard. He may be just to the right of Cov Cath 50.

They say HS kids are bigger these days, but those guys look to have some size, would they be athletic enough to play for Dale today? And the neck rolls are classic.

When did they go to the current "H"? That is also the first pick I've seen of CCH without their current logo, and prior to the "Colonels" across the back. When did they change?

Not sure when they went to the H but a few years before the H-Wing they had just the head of the mean bird. Several BGPr's have use the mean bird avatar, it was just the head of that. Not sure of when Cov Cath made any of the changes but Cov Cath was waaaaaaaaay bigger than HHS.
