  1. Rockmom, I agree with you. You have to give these kids a lot of credit for coming out week after week and putting it on the line for their school. Nothing is going to change for Iroquois as long as the Jefferson Co. school bd. allows transfers the way they do. A few years ago one of the coaches told me that players that belonged at Iroquois were going to different schools all over the county. Most were going under the guise of taking AP classes that were not offered at Iroquois. Some even left to take AP PE at another school.
  2. Haven't seen JH play, but I hear they are pretty good. It should be a great game with speed on both sides.
  3. J-Town has both size and speed. DeMichael Jackson is the real deal. He is a very elusive runner and he doesn't throw the ball bad either. They will factor into the district race because their defense is good and they bring a lot of pressure.
  4. Toolaidback, I think you are right. John Hardin is a good team, but Boyle is better. Their defense will keep John Hardin's running game in check. Boyle 28---John Hardin 14.
  5. Wales will get the record. He will rack up yards against Etown and Larue. He could get 300-400 on both nights respectively. He will have 7-800 in 2 games. Write it down.
  6. All Hardin County schools require concussion baseline testing.
  7. I don't think they have played either John Hardin or Warren Central since 2008 season.
  8. I hope you are right. I've heard at least one of their coaches talk about being real concerned about their depth next year, and they are going to need some considering the first part of their schedule. I think their first four games are Henry Clay, Lex. Cath, Meade, Boyle.
  9. Slobberknocker you may have them over rated just a bit. They will be decent, but not what they have been the past 4 years. I don't think they will have that much depth. They lost 5 out of their front seven on offense, and their all time leading rusher in Savoy. On defense I think they lost 7 starters (3 of 4 DL, MLB, 2 CBs, and a safety). I think they can still be a pretty good team, just not what they have been. Let's just be positive and hope for the best.
  10. Game will be broadcasted on 101.5 if your near the Elizabethtown area.
  11. Are you saying John HArdin is a medium strength opponent????? Please tell me you just got your facts mixed up!!!
  12. Male will win this game because of Graves lack of speed. Graves will play hard, but their lack of speed will tell in this game.
  13. Graves is a well coached team that runs the Wing-T. They don't have a lot of speed, but they will play good defense, and they won't beat themselves.
  14. This should be an extremely interesting game. Two good teams means it should be a close game. I'll have to give the edge to Greenwood because they are playing at home. I'll say Greenwood by 3.
  15. A good game between two good teams. Both defenses played hard and physical. John was hurt in the first half with some holding calls that nullified some nice gains. They also had a sure TD pass dropped at the 5 yd. line be a wide open receiver. The big difference in the game was John's ability to throw the ball while Nelson struggled with their passing. Nelson having one of their HBs out of the lineup tonight also hurt them some. #4 for Nelson is the best punter/kicker that I have seen this year. He can really change field position in a hurry. I do think Nelson has a good chance to win their district. I look for the Nelson, Meade and Greenwood to be all battling it out for the district championship. Good luck to the Cardinals and Bulldogs.
  16. I forgot to say that it was on the ch. 41 news out of Louisville. They quoted the heat index at 102, and this news show comes on at 10:00 EST.
  17. If the weather forcasters are corrrect the heat index could reach 112 on Friday. How are teams going to scrimmage? Last night the heat index was over 100 at 10:00 pm.
  18. Each coach is allowed to nominate "2" players from his team. He can also nominate a QB if he thinks his QB is qualified. A list is compiled and then the players are voted on. The game coaches do have some room to add other players to the roster.
  19. I dont think we should be talking about records. Only three teams Highlands played had winning records. Beechwood, Ryle, and Cincy St. X. Mind you, Beechwood is 1A. Let me say that again-1A.
  20. It may depend on which RB steals the show. Will it be Harper or Brooks? Bardstown played a pretty good game last week against a team that has more size and speed than any team around this area. That speaks well for Bardstown, but Nelson County returns most all of their varsity from last year. Should be a heck of a ballgame.
  21. John Hardin lost 7 starters from last year's defensive unit. They also lost 6 on the offensive side of the ball. I've talked to some of the people close to the program, and they say they will have a decent team, but not what some people are expecting.
