Iroquois is just not a good program. And John Hardin is really good. Put it all together and its a tough night for everyone.

Also, I know JH was up 47-0 in the first, but I thought the running clock rule was after halftime? Or did Iroquois agree to let it run?

I am likely in the minority, but year after year I simply can't do anything but admire the Iroquois team. Their challenges are not just what many deem a pathetic football program, but off the field. Yet year after year, they somehow have kids who suit up and play the game. It's hard work to win. But it's even harder work to not win and continue playing week after week.

Will JH move to #2 in the state now behind Trinity.......

Rockmom, I agree with you. You have to give these kids a lot of credit for coming out week after week and putting it on the line for their school. Nothing is going to change for Iroquois as long as the Jefferson Co. school bd. allows transfers the way they do. A few years ago one of the coaches told me that players that belonged at Iroquois were going to different schools all over the county. Most were going under the guise of taking AP classes that were not offered at Iroquois. Some even left to take AP PE at another school.

Iroquois is in a bad spot with participation. I'm guessing they had about 30 players on the team. They had a few solid players on the team. All there players played hard and never gave up. The running clock did start in the 1st quarter and Coach Brown did pull the starters very early. If not state records could have been broken for scoring and rushing yards. Believe me to score 47 points in the 1st quarter was unexpected. Punts were not returned and very few passes were attempted. It was one of those nights the ball bounced our way every time.

John Hardin did not rush the punter or even attempt to return any punts either. Iroquois is just that bad...sad really

I went to Iroquois, we beat the Rocks in a scrimmage in 1969. The year before they were state champs. As a neighborhood school we had some very nice teams. Late 70s we made the playoffs. We have a nice field locker room. Its just what someone mentioned earlier, kids go other places. My own kids went other places but we don't live in the south end anymore.

 

I think they should go to 1A/2A and they would have to travel like Trinity does, but at least they would not face scores in the 100s. Its all about what you have. I used to go to their games until my sons started playing.
