Yes the field looked great - someone deserves a raise! Can't wait to be back next weekend for the Pigskin Classic. Enjoyed watching both teams in the scrimmage - good luck to the ADS! I am so glad football season is here.:jump:

Don't be surprised when those Mercer Seniors step into the leadership role and the seasoned Juniors too. They are young but have strong will and determination plus they have a point to prove, while having a bullseye on their back. As of today, the Mighty Titans are still undefeated!!

Mercer Co. Titans, they have Seniors and Juniors that will finally get their chance to "rise to the occasion". Yeah, we lost 22 Seniors, but we gained a championship and motivation to WIN and to be perfect. These guys have something to prove in 5-A and they are ready to meet the challenge. Looking good. Now that school is back in session, I would say there will be more updates.

We have been so fortunate with our awesome coaching staff that I could see most any of them in a head coaching position one day, but hope they stay around Mercer for while, sure would hate to lose any of them.

I remember when Clay was born, now I feel old! What a great young man. I am so proud of him and I am sure his family is as well. Good Luck Clay!

Last year when Mercer County played Boyle County, the Titans were led from the new Sports Complex onto the field with bagpipers - it was pretty cool. They carried the huge sword (that has been become a tradition now) and put it in the large stone at the corner of the endzone and all the players have a hand on it before they take the field. There is a video clip I saw somewhere, I'll ask around and try to post it.

A few Mercer juniors attended, one Yeast boy ran a 4.69 in the 40.

Mercer's should be in soon - I heard right after Spring Break and mention of a ceremony to give them out. Will be glad to post pictures of them. I t hink Trinity's look SHARP...

I hear we are going to be doing some travelling -I for one am ready to hit the road, wherever the Titans go!

I agree with that 100% - boy, we will sure miss that fella on the field.

Andre Brooks hasn't signed and from what I hear KCU is hoping he will commit to them.

You know during a parent ring meeting Coach gave parents examples to go look at on the Balfour site and I can't remember which one it was - just flashy, big, gaudy and the boys are happy. They will be taken care of and that's all that matters.:thumb:

Let's hope a new baseball field minus the hill comes with the new school, groundbreaking next week :banana:

Andre Brooks #44 for Mercer is an awesome kid on and off the football field. Very strong academically and also in his faith and not afraid to share it. I'm really glad to hear the news.

It was a long night but no reason to rush when honoring these boys and their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom, especially to this special class of SENIORS. It was their night to shine. It was a very, very nice banquet, plenty of food, fellowship and man that highlight video was awesome! It was held on the Harrodsburg Campus thanks to principal Wade Stanfield. He worked extra hard himself on settting up the gym to accomodate so many people and remained after to assist with cleaning up. From a parent, and other football parents - we thank you Mr. Stanfield for making it a special night. These boys deserved it.

Last I heard they had a goal of $28,000, and that they had a little over $18,000, still a ways to go. Some fundraisers include a football poster with a new team picture to sell. They got a ring committee of parents that have really been beating the bush for money and working their tails off. Rings were ordered a couple of weeks ago so time is ticking. I t hink they'll make it. :thumb:

Efforts to raise the money is taking place now. You can mail your tax deductible donations to the Mercer High School, attn: Vicki Tewmey, book keeper, memo on check Football Ring Fund. Rings were ordered last week, 8 week shipment and a whole lot of money yet to raise. Thanks for your concern and your support. Other fundraisers are going on on too in an effort to pay for the number of rings needed. Thanks.

That was a great game and will become a BIG rival game, I look forward to it again, hope Boyle is on the schedule too.
