  1. I predict another big win for Mercer Titans. Starters taking care of business in the first half and JV playing in the second half.
  2. I think Mercer has the potential to go all the way to Papa John's. Given the short period of time they have been playing together as one team, I think they have done awesome. This merge has even made them stronger players individually and they have each been challenged more to take it to the next level! They have come together as one team, with the same goal, winning! Good luck Mighty Mighty Titans.
  3. Anyone know what the facilities are like at Spencer on the visitors side? I read that Spencer beat Newport a few weeks ago but I think the Mighty Titans will conquer once again. Having playoffs at home will be GREAT.
  4. It was great to have Donald Sunshine Walker #32 back in the mix of things! Great job to the Titans and congratulations Seniors - what an awesome win for Senior Night.
  5. I agree 100%, Mercer is blessed to have Bart Bredar as an assistant coach too. He has experience, vast knowledge, relates well with the kids - Bredar is a great coach.
  6. I for one am happy to have Coach Bill Mason! He is great with the players on and off the field, a lot of respect for him.
  7. I love watching #2 Jackson when he kicks in the extra gear and leaves everyone behind!
  8. It is all still under construction so I have been told, rosters will be included and lots more pictures, the next 2 weeks when kids get back in school it will really take shape. They have some software that will be able to do tours of the complex, weightroom etc. and fields. Great for the team, coaches, parents and community. Good JOB to those students at vo-tech school in Mr. Laymon's class designing the site and all the time planning he has put into it, and for boosters supporting it. For whoever it was that asked, the red building is the new sports complex.
  9. I read from another post a long time ago in the pre season that at the Centre Combine #2 Cory Jackson ran a 4.31 Donald Walker #32 ran a 4.32(he should return this week from injury) and Brandon Ford #13 ran a 4.33 that was with a hand time though, and the wind played a factor. But still that is extremely fast!!!
  10. Awesome to see these great examples. I just heard this morning on Coach Jaggers radio show that a parent and a technology teacher have been working on a website for the Mercer Titans with 2 student teams competing for the winning webiste design. Under construction, but looks to be coming along nicely. I will email these website examples to them for ideas. Great way to showcase these teams! http://www.mercertitans.com :ylsuper:
  11. New website, http://www.mercertitans.com you can do a tour of the indoor turf in the new Mercer sports complex. Evidently this is a site under construction that the football boosters and Mr. Laymon at the tech center school are working on together, that's according to Coach Yates on the Coach Jaggers radio show. The inside of this complex is top notch!:thumb:
  12. KHSAA left Mercer in the 2A, which the coaches/players/fans had absolutely nothing to do with that decision - mvoing on - let's give the Titans a break and realize that they have only been playing together as 1 united team for how many weeks vs. years that others have been teamed together? Let's hear it for the Titans! 1. Mercer Co. 2. Russell 3. Western 4. Belfry 5. Middlesboro
  13. Sorry Red Devil - no chance of anyone taking the Scotties in the 4th - they don't exist anymore - Remember the Titans?
  14. Mercer board had to vote to accept them - if they voted no, there were many other "things" that could have happened. I heard for one all students could have been forced back to the system where they reside, no exceptions, it could have even gone so far as to a vote to the public. None of this was discussed because it was not going to be an issue, Mercer would accept their system and their money, and now have accepted their super as mercer asst. super - so much for him retiring? This was a "rushed" idea to merge the sports/band/etc. and mix the students in the classes on both campuses, but to be honest, I think it has been VERY successful and I wish all the Titan programs luck this year as merged and mighty.
  15. Mercer did have the option to not accept Harrodsburg once they decided to dissolve the system, but they would have been crazy to not accept the Harrodsburg System. As I understood it, Harrodsburg was in very good shape financially.
  16. Newport will be a challenge for the Titans, close one though - Mercer with a victory. Cheer for me Titan fans, I can't make this one.
  17. Yeah right. People started putting down blankets yesterday (Wednesday), absolutely ridiculous. I heard tonight that one "mom" not only reserves for her and "dad" but the entire family of 20 or so by putting down 5 blankets, I wish I knew who it was. How unfair and rude is that? They knock out "parents" who want to actually sit and watch their child play too! I think we all pay the same gate entrance and deserve equal chances at seating and shouldn't have to rush on Wednesday to save a seat by throwing down a blanket. People need to get a grip and consider others. I thought the parade was nice tonight. Anyone hear how the pep rally and bonfire went? Best of luck to the Mighty Mighty Titans.
  18. What SOME Mercer fans did was rude and disrespectful. But SOME of the FANS should have shown more respect to a program like Boyle. Please don't "group" all Titans fans together. I am not now, nor will I ever be disrespectful, nor my son - or else he will answer to me. He very much appreciated the "class act" and earned respect of the Boyle players. :thumb:
  19. I asked the same question, why did Boyle wear their home uniforms? But, for whatever reason the Mercer players noticed it immediately when they walked on the field and were quite angered at it being our home field and took it as an insult - who's house? our house! :argue:
  20. I know for a fact that after the game when the Boyle County players congratulated Mercer on the win that some Boyle players said "2A all the way, They said that Mercer deserved to be in the State Championship and they (Boyle County players) wouldn't let them accept anything less. Quite encouraging words from such young men. As for next year, sophomores and juniors combined - Nathan Griffith, Nick Reed, Matthew McCloud, William Harris, Thad Claunch, Hunter Robinson, Trevor Short, Jordan Yeast, Mark Coulter, Ellis Delahousay, Tyler Horn, Austin Vaughn, Jay Linton, John T. Linton, Norris Yeast, Keith Brooks, Devan Patton just to name a few off the top of my head - over 40 return. The Mercer group was quite successful in Middle school, so consider the players they incorporate from the burg - and it could be some years of succees for the New TITANS. Over 30 I heard on freshmen team.
  21. Mercer will win big, will be a good chance for lots of players to get some experience and PT. FYI: Mercer JV plays at 6:00 home vs. Lafayette on Monday. In case you can't wait until Friday night.
  22. As I said in another thread - these boys ahve been together as one team for 8 weeks? Give them a break. They didn't ask for this merger, but are playing to win like any other team - except other teams have been playing together for how many years? I am sick of Mercer being bad mouthed and penalized for a decision that KHSAA made - 2A, 3A, no wait are we 4A but going to 5A, or just a borderline something or another - deal with it - we are. We as true Merged fans are loving this football season and will do whatever we can in support of the new Mercer Titan team. Make excuses of why Boyle lost and who didn't play if that makes you feel better. Fact is - the end result was a victory for Mercer. Several Mercer players commented on the fact that Boyle County wore their home jerseys/uniforms to OUR HOME field, any particular reason why Boyle did that? I thought that the color uniform was traditionally for home games, am I incorrect? If so, please advise - Boyle was obviously wearing black, their home uniform?
  23. Well one thing is for sure, these boys have only been together as one team for what 8 weeks? I think they have come together rather well, considering other teams have been together for how long? Who cares about enrollment numbers, it wasn't by their choice and they as players had no say in the matter, I am tired of hearing the enrollment numbers, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, so what they are dressing about 70 kids - not counting some freshman and all together have a 100 or so - these boys want to be a part of a winning program, who wouldn't and I sure don't blame them. The coaching staff is top notch, sports complex is unbelievable, top of the line baby - fan support base is more than it has ever been before. I am happy to be a part of it as a fan. Buffalo Gap you are correct "Mercer, from outsiders points of view are in a "Danged if they do, Danged if they dont" situation. IF they win a state champioship, people will be downplaying it b/c of their #'s and if they dont win IT, then people will be making bashing comments because they didnt, b/c of their #s." These boys just want to play ball and WIN, who can blame them for that. Merged and Mighty, we are the Titans and they improve each week - they are extremely talented and they can deliver.
  24. The numbers I heard was well over 5,000 in attendance. I do hope that RebelK will forward the information regarding student behavior to Mr. Yates at the Moberly Road Campus and Mr. Standfield at the East Lexington Street Campus, no fan should be subjected to this type of treatment and rudeness. You can probably get emails on the Mercer website. I was on the hillside with many other Mercer fans receiving the Boyle fans with open arms, literally. It was good to see so many friends from Boyle that I have't seen in a while. We even had Boyle fans tailgating with us. I do hope you won't perceive this as the way all Mercer fans are. I am proud for the way our AD T. Yeast handled the night, and all of his assistants and the MANY hours they put in to try to accomodate for these numbers with concessions, bleachers, etc. Lessons learned, I'm sure. I look forward to travelling to Boyle County next year, and hope this becomes a tradition. Mercer County is very proud of our football team and coaching staff. "Welcome to Titan Town, the title has changed" or at least that is what the banner said that the players ran through last night. Good luck to Boyle the remaining season, again - it was a great game with unbelievable atmosphere.
