  1. Jackson, Ford speedsters were added, along with several very experienced & very talented players. As for Griffith, he RARELY if ever runs the ball.
  2. I think it was one of his first coaching jobs. I may be wrong but I think his wife is alum of Larue, I do know her dad was band director there for many years. YSo yes, he does have connections to Larue. But then again, after this many years of coaching he has connections to a lot of places, and if he doesn't his dad does.
  3. Go Titans! One week at a time. This entire community is so proud of the boys and what they have accomplished. District Champs to Regional Champs would be great. Mercer will win over Larue, that is my prediction:thumb:
  4. I have missed Nathan Griffith playing, some things I just don't understand? As fo the scanner, it was a good color pic to begin with!
  5. Oh we are paying attention! No game is taken lightly by the Titans. Week to week. Game to game. Now I do admit, I have done some wishful thinking but not aloud - can't jinx anything. GO TITANS!
  6. Cool picture scanned from the cover of the football program I got tonight. I wasn't sure last year about the blue helmts - but I think they're sharp.
  7. Yeah, but pray he'll be okay, we need everyone healthy vs. Larue. It was on the last TD he scored.
  8. Nickname, long BEFORE we merged as the Titans, ironic? Newport played a very hard game tonight. :thumb:
  9. It was something to see his teammates rush to carry him off the field. This team has come really come together. Sunshine has struggled with hamstrings injuries since track. What a great game for the TITANS tonight, they were AWESOME! The pass from Jackson to Smith was great.
  10. Sunshine played awesome on defense tonight. He is a tough kid and will be fine.
  11. Cautiously optimistic, Mercer wins - afraid to post predicted score. I think this will be a different game vs. Newport. I am glad it is at home, weather conditions should be better and I encourage ALL Mercer Countians to come out to the game and support their home team. We need strong fan support!
  12. Thank you, these boys do deserve respect, they have worked hard to get where they are and had many obstacles to overcome during the merged team. Looking ahead to Newport, one game at a time but always hoping for more! Best of luck to remaining 2A teams, I'll be cheering for my TITANS!
  13. Mercer's band director commented that they had won the last State Band Championship as Scotties and the first State Band Championship as Titans. Awesome job! I hope the football team has a state championship to add in the coming weeks. Also don't forget Chrys Jones who was honored during halftime and presented with his ring from setting long jump records at State - what a talented :thumb: kid.
  14. BUT, 4 to make it through before delivery to the Pizza Box!
  15. All sports, soccer, volleyball, golf, etc. even BAND, they even combined the little league sports program for the younger ones to play football and cheerleaders together. :ylsuper:
  16. What an awesome game - way to go TITANS on making history and being undefeated for the season. Only 4 more to go, keep your heads on staight, stay focused and we will cheer you on in Louisville! Remember the TITANS...
  17. Without the merger, Mercer Scotties would have been making noise this year. No one necessarily likes change, but I can tell you that 68 Merged and Mighty MERCER TITAN Varsity players are sure enjoying what this merger has done for them. They have accepted it. They have made new friends, playing in new positions and all has been done so unselfishly. This merger has made these boys into true TITANS and I am very proud to be affiliated with this football program. I am proud of all the players for being so accepting of the change, with one another, new coaches, new plays, school changes, new facilities and all has been done with their heads high and proud. Best of luck Mercer TITANS, I will remember you, and so will they!
  18. Mercer Away, I like the helmets photos are from http://www.suessportsshots.com
  19. Mercer home is my favorite! pictures taken by Clay Jackson of the Advocate Messenger :thumb:
  20. Mercer Titans - Chris Lewis, Rashad Buster, William Harris and Nick Reed
  21. From what I hear, Western's Coach and Coach Jaggers are great friends, wives are too. Western's wife rode with Mrs. Jaggers to North Oldham and this Western/Mercer match up was discussed, in a joking way. It could be a tough game for all involved. I would love to see the match up myself.
  22. There are several others that I am sure are getting a look or two in addition to Cory Jackson and Brandon Ford - Sunshine Walker #32, Chris Lewis #82, Freeman Edwards #12 just to name a few. This is a talented group of Seniors.
