  1. That is simply not true. The vast majority are from Belfry.
  2. Typical Jefferson Co enrollment games. They're notorious for it.
  3. This is a great analysis of what's occurred at Belfry.
  4. Forgot about Doss. I completely agree.
  5. I did watch it again...over and over. Does the blocker ever take his eyes and head downfield to see where he is? No. He may see his teammate catch the ball because the blocker was initially farther downfield....but his head never turns downfield...he's always looking back upfield. The defender was not blindsided by any means. It is what it is....and we can all agree to disagree. But.....IMO, that's a terrible call.....
  6. IMO, this is the single most overrated award in the state. Hands down
  7. I think you're seeing a demographic shift where more kids are being "directed" to Waggener and Male. Scroggins certainly hasn't forgotten how to coach......he just isn't getting the best players. for several years, Central continually produced D1 talent....almost at the rate of Trinity. That's no longer happening. Tim Patterson and Anthony Wales are the last ones I can remember.....
  8. Not sure that I agree. While the block in itself ended up being unnecessary....the block came from a receiver downfield....with his back to his ENDZONE. It doesn't appear that he knows exactly where his teammate is....he just sees a GC defender chasing after the receiver. The hit was clean.... IMO, that's a terrible call....and it essentially took the game out of the hands of the kids and put squarely in the hands of the officials. My guess is that reprimands were handed down. Sorry....but that was a clean block. Period. Nothing Malicious. Just a solid block
  9. Not sure if you meant west? No real question about the Eastern side of 3A. There is only 2 realistic choices---Belfry or Corbin. The western side of 3A is up for grabs...but Lex Cath has the advantage at this point.
  10. Belfry has made it look easy the first two weeks. Maybe too easy. I agree with a previous poster that Belfry definitely needs a game that presents challenges and requires adjustments. That being said......watching them in person....and on film.....they can be scary. Have a unique combination of size, strength and speed. Defensively....they are difficult to block and they fly to the football. LB is still an issue....and this is a game that should challenge those Pirate backers.... Offensively....their QB, Corbett....is fast becoming a game changer. Looks extremely comfortable under center...and can run the option quite well. He does appear to keep it a little more than Haywood may like....but he's a difference maker. Seen film on NCC---and they appear to be at least as good as last year.....but IMO, it won't be nearly enough. Belfry 44 NCC 14
  11. I would say so. Home game for Montgomery. Their strength is/was Harrison's weakness....inside running game. But once, Harrison stuffed the middle....simply not enough outside speed to take advantage of Harrison stacking the box. New staff at Montgomery...so they're working out the kinks. Give them some time
  12. Nice win for the kids in Harrison Co. After stubbing their toe the last couple of weeks...this was a must win game to restore some of their confidence. Still a work in progress however. QB and offensive lines issues galore. Definitely the best they've looked on the defensive side of the ball.
  13. IMO.....Central's performance somewhat devalues the win by Corbin. At this point, unless someone else really steps up... I think its Belfry and that's it.
  14. This one definitely caught me by surprise. May also take the shine off of Corbin's victory last week over Central
  15. IMO...Caldwell received too much "love" during the preseason. Rebuilding phase. They should be better in 2017
  16. Film doesn't lie. FS controlled Caldwell on both sides of the ball. Game wasn't as clean as you would like it to be....but FS still dominated...despite the low score
  17. Didn't predict the weather issues....but I saw this outcome over a month ago. FS will be a tough out in 4A
  18. Scott's district may be one of the weakest in the entire state. Not sure there's a quality team in it. Haven't seen Holmes yet...so I guess there's still hope
  19. Warrensville is definitely AA. Does anyone know if this is a 2 yr deal or just for 2016? Didn't know if we were returning the favor next year?
  20. Talent usually isn't the issue at Paducah Tilghman........
  21. Quality list. With all the accolades the Belfry kids are receiving....its very easy to miss a few right on their team. Noah Corbett, the Belfry QB will be a nightmare for defenses this year. He really came into his own toward season's end....and set the tone in the Championship game. Brayden Preece, Belfry Center, is one of the best they've had. Strong blocker and very quick on the LB. Maybe one of the best centers Belfry's had in 20+ years. That's just a couple of kids. Belfry is simply loaded. Several more could be mentioned.
  22. The Askew kid is a beast. Definitely a special talent.
