  1. QUOTE] Agreed. These two with the combination of #21 is the heart and sole of BW. Hall adds to these 3 and is 3pt compliment that they need. A week ago I had Alex Hall on my "Players to watch list". He's now off of it and #21 and Romes are added on to it. On another not, Holy Cross players played hard. The difference in my opinion was BW outcoached HC. I believe #21 is Nathan Snyder, not positive though. Beuttel is a great ball player and is the type of guy who you want to run your team. He always has the determination that you want in every player. Against Cov Cath he adjusted his game and was the only one who really drove to the basket. The Tigers can win the All A if they play up to there capability. Having Romes back really "gels" there team. Should be a great game between Beechwood and winner of NCC/ Newport. Good win Coach Shumate and tigers:thumb:
  2. Sorrell is not the best player in the region. Sorrell i could see at #3 but i still think Henderson and Simpson are much better than him. You cant say Holy Cross' schedule has been harder than Cov Caths. So Sandman does this mean that all Cov Cath players in the top 10 are better than those who dont play as strong of a schedule???
  3. Holmes might have played there worst game of the year against CCH, they missed numerous open lay ups and had many turnovers. Cov Cath has lost 3 in a row, they better come into this game with the will to win. I will call the upset though. HC-62 CCH-59
  4. The refs need to let them play more, I hate BIG 10 style basketball where if u have your hand on a players back its a foul, when they dont even have the ball! I like to see games with a lot of scoring, and alot of full court game. As far as changes i would like to see the NBA no charge circle be brought into the game, i dont believe you should be able to take a charge if the shooter is 2 feet away from the basket.
  5. Not saying i dont think they are the best team in the 9th, but Holmes hasnt played everyone in the 9th yet. So Boone and Highlands both have their chances to prove they are better than Holmes when they play in the upcoming month.
  6. He is not so much a pitcher but rather a position player. A buddy of mine said he played for his sons summer team and played a good Right Field and is a decent hitter. He seemed to think that the kid wouldnt be a varsity stud or be a part of the regular pitching rotation but could see some playing time depending on who is pitching at the time. Beechwood already has 4 solid pitchers in Elliott, Hadden, Smith, and Snyder. I dont see the transfer getting involved that much in the pitching rotation but he could be used as a reliever.
  7. If i am Cov Cath i dont run with the Bulldogs, play your game which is to run a half court offense. Cov Cath would love to see this game in the 40's, Holmes is eager to get out and run and play in the 70's and 80's. If Cov Cath allows Holmes to score more than 60 or 65 points i dont see Cov Cath having a chance at winning. Should be a good game, i just hope getting there by 7 will get me a decent seat.
  8. They better be able to dress 40 on each team because there would be somewhere around 100 fouls between the two. lol As much as i would love to see the two champs play, after the "extra activities" following the CCH/HHS varsity game i dont think the schools would agree to that.
  9. The game is at Holmes and i believe it is at 7:30 p.m
  10. Huge game in the 9th region on Tuesday! After Cov Cath's recent losses Holmes seems to be the favorite, but in this match up anything can happen. Predictions? Thoughts?
  11. Cov Cath will NOT be the clear favorite in the 9th. You seem to think its Cov Cath 1, and then the rest of the field. There are 4 or 5 teams that can win region this year: Ryle, Beechwood, Cov Cath, Highlands and maybe Boone. It will be tough for Cov Cath to win their district, let alone the region.
  12. Boone County is not better than Holmes. Holmes plays great defense and i think they are 10-15 points better than Boone. Not taking anything away from Boone Co., they played a great game tonight and they are a really good team, i just dont think they are as good as Holmes.
  13. If Holmes can improve there outside shooting as a team they can be VERY dangerous. They seem very reluctant to shoot the open 3pt shot and want to take everything to the basket. They are very athletic and they can win many of there games in NKY on pure athleticism. When they play teams that can match there athleticism they need to have good shooting. That being said i think that Holmes is the best team in the 9th and is 10 points better than Cov Cath. Should be a thriller against CCH tuesday.
  14. I did not expect this! I thought this would be a much closer game. Is Holy Cross that good? Did Newport just play that bad?
  15. Romes will not play tomorrow night. He still has a sprained ankle and will be out until sometime next week. Beechwood needs to forget about the Holmes game and come out with a fresh mind set. If Beechwood plays how they are capable of playing they should win by 15+ points. But if the team comes in down from the night before and stumbles around the court they will get beat. Beechwood-57 Villa-53
  16. I saw in the paper that his brother Nick Hall is getting some quality playing time. What year is he? This Beechwood team seems to be in a slump of late without there IMO best player Brian Romes. He is much more than a scoring presence but also a good defender. He has a bright future ahead of him as i definantly see him playing at the next level.
  17. Did Hall do anything tonight? I know there was alot of hype about him earlier in the season about him being a Div. 1 prospect (which i thought was crazy). I was wondering if he could do anything against a good team.
  18. Depends who you talk too, a Cov Cath fan may use it as an excuse of their loss and a Highlands fan may say they would have won either way. You can't really answer this question, its like a "what if". "What if Bondick was in the game?" One can only assume, no facts available.
  19. I heard from my reliable source who went to the game that the starters were pulled with about 3 minutes left in the third quarter, but there wasnt much scoring in the 4th quarter by Holmes. I heard alot of good things about Henderson and that he had a few monster dunks on the night. How tall is he? If i remember correctly i thought he was around 5'11".
  20. 2 county sheriffs with over 500 people to deal with, i dont think they could do too much. I wish i could have been there to see this game, it sounds like it was a good one.
  21. Ouch! Sounds like Holmes had there way all night... If i had to guess, id say that Holmes probably dominated on the boards since Beechwood doesnt have much height.
  22. I thought Villa would win by much more but a solid W for the blue lightning. They may have been over looking Bellevue and thinking about the Beechwood game on Thursday.
