  1. He hasnt had much success at boyd?? before damron came a lot of people couldnt even remember the last playoff game boyd had one and he won playoff games his first three years
  2. boyd's lack of success late in the season last year had nothing to do with coaching or the type of offense ran we had more than enough talent to run that offense but that was the problem we had excellent INDIVIDUALS and ther wasnt much of a TEAM as far as the new head coach i belive lee evans is the perfect man for the job hes more of an old school type coach who doesnt care who u r or who ur mommy and daddy are or how good u r ur still gonna work jsut as hard as everyone else for him and i belive that more coaches need to be like that
  3. Shew, sounds like we missed a classic! Congrats to Raceland on a fabulous season. :thumb:
  4. Do you happened to know what radio station it's on???
  5. my stinking radio won't pickup the game either.
  6. That's who I heard was supposed to start earlier today...
  7. just called a buddy of mine and the score is 3-2 in the 5th...they had a rain delay and are getting ready to go back on the field...
  8. Nice job by Bowling and Venters to shutdown the Morgan offense! It's always a nice commodity in high school baseball to have solid relievers and Boyd has a few of them! and like kinglion said- let's keep on rollin'!!!
  9. East Carter has still yet to impress me. Yeah, they have a nice record of 26-2, but they definitely have not played up to the quality of opponents that teams like Boyd, Russell, etc has played. I see a Boyd-EC matchup for the 16th region championship, though...so we'll see just how good East Carter really is...
  10. You definitely missed a good one man. Everyone seemed to hit the ball, but Blanton was the star on offense with a homer and a couple of RBI's. I'm sure we'll see Williams in our game tomorrow against Ashland...personally, i don't think we'll have a problem at all hitting him but many seem to believe he will shut is down. Guess we'll have to wait and see. :thumb:
  11. JMoore really pitched a gem tonight! Congrats to the boys!
  12. My goodness, what is wrong with this team? The offense has been a non-factor the past few games and the players seem to be not meshing right... I just hope they don't play like this in district's. :scared:
  13. my thoughts and prayers go out to Stephen's family and friends. :(
  14. I heard this same thing as well, BCRules. The coach told a few players to find "another sport," and don't even both coming back next season. Pretty harsh if you ask me, considering the boys he told this to are very good boys who have great attitudes and work their butts off.
  15. McPeek would probably have been the leading canidate but since he's coaching that arena football team, I doubt he'll even be considered...i'd love to see him get it, though. My guess is Lee Evans will get the nod, mostly because he's familiar with how Damron ran things, and Evans is also a very solid defensive mentor.
  16. Not sure if you all have already heard, but Dustin Jude passed away Sunday(May 7th) evening. He graduated from Boyd County in 2002 and was a member of the 2001 state championship team. Please keep the Jude family in your prayers.
  17. I assume that he will be named head coach of Kentucky Christian sometime over the next few days.
  18. A player from the Boyd County football team told me earlier that Coach Damron announced today that he has resigned as head coach and will go to Kentucky Christian College and coach. Very tough loss and I wish Coach Damron nothing but the best!
  19. Tough loss. The pitching, which is one of our stronger areas, really struggled this weekend. We gave up a total of 15 runs in two losses, so hopefully it was just one of those weeks, because last weekend, we put up two shutouts and went 3-0... But anyways, Congrats to CovCath
  20. Kyle Venters pitched a two-hit shutout for Boyd tonight! Not sure about the offensive stats, though...
  21. Trinity has been extremely thus far to say the least...they beat both Boyd and Covington Catholic last weekend...so they definitely have to be towards the top, IMO...
  22. I watched a few games down in Cocoa and Ashland looked like one of the best teams there, IMO. Kris Bias pitched solid everytime I watched and the same can be said for Bonner...I didn't get to see Williams pitch, but i've heard he's throwing around the low 90's now...
