I've heard the kid from Bracken County, Colton Highlander, can bring it and is hearing from pro scouts. I was just wondering if anyone has seen him pitch. I hear he doesn't get much run support and his win/loss record doesn't reflect his talent. I also heard he's clocking out in the low to mid 90s. That's some heat!:fire: Please help me out. I just want to know if this kid is as good as people have told me. I live in the Bracken County area and was wondering about this. We haven't had many baseball prospects.

I've known Levi for a while...nothing but congratulations. It's amazing at the progress he has made since junior high basketball. He has great work ethic and he's heady off the court which I admire the most of him. Out of everyone in the tenth I've seen this past year, Levi was the most surprising long range shooter. When he gets hot you better pick him up at half court. The kid has no conscience when he catches fire. Congrats Levi!!

I don't think Miller is in Mayo's league yet. That league being an NBA prospect. But, he's just a sophomore. So, who knows how good of a player he will be next season.

The tenth region tournament not held at the Fieldhouse is not one I want to be part of. You can only say it's a disadvantage when Mason gains an edge from the homecourt. Having the game won and not hitting FREE throws to seal it is not due to a homecourt disadvantage.

I'm wondering if Mason County's band will play "Rocky Top" at Rupp. I see a lot of Royal fans stand and clap during UT's "Rocky Top". How well will that go over? To get back on subject, I was at the Fieldhouse Saturday night and I must say that Miller was impressive. To defend the best player on the opposition and then have to carry the offense at times, doesn't seem like this kid is that young. Having two more years of high school basketball, Darius Miller might have the brightest future I've ever seen in a player that young. Would anyone agree that Miller could be a tough guard at the next level? I think that guards would definitely have a tough time containing him and I'm not sure if I see many swingmen being able to guard a 6'6" ballhandler that can also see the court exceptionally. Totally assuming that he will not grow anymore. If he grows to be 6'8", we have a very special player to look out for and maybe he'll have his hometown fans bleeding blue instead of his alma mater Rocky Toppin'.

Being from the A-Town (Augusta), I'm very impartial. I think GRC is the better team but looked like they have trouble closing teams out. A lane violation away from nearly making a game last night. If the Royals stay close they might have the firepower down the stretch. But, I think it will be a close game. I don't wanna pick a winner, just that GRC should be the favorite. If I were an oddsmaker though, being at the Fieldhouse, that this game would be a PICK. I had PC favored 5 and Mason favored 4 yesterday. Just for fun might I add.

Just wondering, who will be the home team? I would think that GRC wouldn't want to be home team after what Brossart had to go through with Mason's student section right behind them, screaming during timeouts.

Josh White may be the best point in the region. There was definitely only one guy on the team that had a chance to stop him, a much longer Darius Miller. Mason didn't have to do that to Mains. They didn't have an answer for White in the first half.

This may not be appropriate now but is Johnson taking over next year? I heard Massey might hang up. Not to take anything away from the Devils, I always love their fire in March. And I see a bright future.

Seems like an appropriate question to ask in the first season of some new matchups in district tournaments. And I was wondering if anyone's district seeds their teams come district tourney time.??

I think you're right, if you ask Miller and Turner, they both would tell me that Miller is the best player in the region. :sssh: I didn't see a beast on the floor when Pendleton unravelled at the Fieldhouse a week ago. If Mason plays them again, Pendleton is beat. That might be the only team that could beat them in the tenth but it will happen if the matchup is set. MAN! I can't wait for the rematch.

Darius Miller from Mason County is the best player in the region and he's just a sophomore. This kid is going to turn it up in March, he always seems to play to the competition. I haven't seen anyone who can match up yet. And I think Patrick Elliott will tell you the same thing. He's had his hands full this year with him.

Congrats to the Panthers this year. A lot of teams have passed in 23 years and never accomplished what this team has. Says a lot of these young men. Their work ethic toward the end of this year was nothing short of magnificent. I remember at one time this year, All A classic i believe, when St. Patrick's fans chanted "Two in Two Days!" after the Lady Saints beat the Lady Panthers one night following the Saints close win over the Panthers. Only to be beat two time in one day by the same team. Looks like another chapter is added to the A-Town/St. Pat. story; rivalries are alive and well in the 39th, great job by the KHSAA on the redistricting. Congratulations to Coach Kelsch and also Coach Hinson, did a great job in his first season. Coach Kelsch has a very heavy monkey off his back.

Pendleton does not have an answer for Darius Miller. I thought Pendleton had match up problems in the first game, with both Miller and Middleton. The key to the game will be the play of Micah Turner and Brad Pawsat. These two must have solid games for them to beat this team and solid bench play wouldn't hurt. The last time these two teams played only two players came off the bench for the Royals, Stahl and Setty. Coach O'Hearn has worked in Ethan King and Tony Browning since then and they both have responded with more than anyone expected. The Davis kid was the player that killed the Royals in the Wildcats previous overtime win. I look for him to have another good game with Mason probably having to double Elliott and Belcher late because of foul trouble. Patrick Elliott does a great job of getting players in the air and Miller and Turner are high risers in the paint, relying on their athletic ability. Should be a good one again, but Mason having home court and senior night, I'll have to give it to Mason in overtime, 81-78.

Things just keep getting worse for Coach Hammonds. Or maybe he's just toying with us and has another gameplan to upset a contender in the first round of the district?

St. Patrick and Augusta are both coming off narrow victories against the Lions. Both teams are picking up steam heading into the district. This should be a new chapter to the Panther/Saint storybook. I think it may be the barnburner to watch in the 39th.

Darius Miller at Mason County is a leaper. He's a 6 foot 4 inch (?) sophomore and he reminds me a lot of a Chuck Davis from Alabama. I saw him follow a miss against I think it was Montgomery. He can also put it on the floor and has a dangerous mid-range jumper. If this kid gets goin they could beat anyone in the region. A couple of missed oppurtunities away from beating Pendleton, where Miller controlled the game and was without a doubt the best player on the floor the entire game.

I would have to agree that CCH's pep section is the absolute best in the biz, what they did at Rupp couple of years back was very impressive. Never seen a crowd that big all take one shoe off simultaneously and jump up and down when an opponent lost a shoe and had to play multiple possesions without a shoe. Have you seen St. Patrick's pep section lately? I saw them at Augusta and Augusta was doing the same cheers. St. Pat's section did all of their cheers in slow motion when they had the game locked and Augusta was quietly taking a loss.

Where were those seats at that you saw on EBAY for $200? My seats were $15 a piece. My "Zack Morris light bulb" just appeared.

I can't really remember. I remember when they played Mason County, who has a 5 feet 7 inch guard, the guard for GRC looked to be about his size if not shorter. The little guy can handle the ball, he could give Mains fits in the tenth region tournament.

i wouldn't say if GRC wins it's an upset...i've seen both teams play...GRC vs. Mason Co. and Lafayette vs. Highlands...evenly matched but GRC needs to make a statement to the state that they are for real...my favorite player is that little dude at GRC...he's like earl boykins

one of the most creative and knowledgable basketball minds that i've ever met is patrick kelsch at bracken (asst for girls')...i think he would make a quality head coach somewhere for boys' bball...he's the brother of augusta's head robin kelsch...couple of good guys i might add also, sullivan at mason county...someone offer this guy a head coaching position somewhere...it's ludicrous that he's an assistant...this guy is a coach
