Best Dunker in the State

Featured Replies

Let's base this on the Vert, Height, and style rather than how much they do it. :fire:

I cant think of a real good dunker in the state that i've seen

One of the boys at Bryan Station can throw it down. Foxx, I believe. Whichever one it was he really got off the floor quick and in a big way.

Deontay Wright from Dunbar can throw it down. He's about 6'6 210 and has major lift.

Before he had some trouble this year John Watkins a 6'4 swing man from Tates Creek probably had a 40 inch vert and brought it in a mean way on the fast break.

Arrez Henderson would be top 2 or 3 and I have not seen any of the players listed above. He's no more than 6'0 tall.

I seen one from Conner that could really throw it down

Probably Curry. There are some guys that can dunk in warmups and then there are guys that can dunk against a defense. Curry is the latter.

Haddix or Mackey of Scott Co.

Antonio Owens from Boyd Co can really throw it down. He is a 6'1" guard that can get the top of the square. Opposing fans often show up for warmups just to see what dunks he will do.

Alex Curry from Conner can flat out jump. He isn't spectacular though.

Arrez is probably the most prolific dunker in the state. He is the best I've seen in past few years. He's only about 5'10" I belive.

Henderson of Holmes can't certainly impress when you look at his size. No doubt he can throw it down.

I've had the pleasure to watch Dan Penick throw a few down in his career and he takes a backseat to no one. Between his Sophmore and junior years he won the dunking contest over at Bishop Brossart. He has always been very creative with his dunks. Funny the one I remember the most is when he was playing a freshmen game at Scott and he stole the ball at about halfcourt and took it all the way to slam it down as time ran out and Ludlow left Scott with a very dramatic win.

Rodney Haddix of Scott County is the best I have seen this year.
