  1. Should be announced any day. Search at Campbell has begun.
  2. Take it to the bank: Reitz will be the new coach. Done deal behind the scene.
  3. How can you leave Bill Topmiller off completely. He started as a sophmore with Randy Noll and Voskuhl. Probably the best all around athlete from CCHS.
  4. I would switch Verax for Elliot. Verax is having a nice career at Transylvania and Elliot is at Berea.
  5. Its not mandatory that coaches try and help out their players succeed and make it to the next level by helping in the recruiting process, but it is something that can be helpful. I know my basektball coach helped me send out tapes and got my name out. I didnt go D1, but i never expected too. I dont think Lorenz expects to go to an Ohio State either, but some help from the coach would go along way. My coach did everything he could, and he helped me find a perfect fit. Did he have to, No. But being the coach, wouldnt you want your players to make it on to the next level? I know i would, and that my coach did as well. For that i am very grateful to him.
  6. I believe if we really want to get to the bottom of this we need to start at the top. I am an objective bystander from another district but happen to know all the players in this ordeal. The idea of a district wide athletic director is a very good approach with good future ramifications. The superintendent is very much involved in this forward thinking. However, the current school board cannot seem to get on the same page. If you ever look at their minutes you will see many 3-2 votes. The normal protocol is to get consensus and try to get everyone to agree. However, some of these same board members have petty differences and still side with some of the old guard. These people should not run for the board unless they can be objective on all matters. What they need to worry about is what is best for the kids and nothing else. The current administration at the High School is part of the problem. They along with some of these same board members decided they needed an on site AD. Joe Roberts was not having any trouble handling the operation. However, to appease some of the old guard, principal, and board members a position was created for another older guard to return. Shouldn't the board be trying to cut expenses rather than add to them? These problems are going to continue until the dead wait is cleaned out or leaves. Joe Roberts is a great young man who I respect greatly. Even though money could be a factor in his resignation, I know for a fact that he would have never left if these petty politics did not exist. I implore the superintendent to work toward some amiable solution before CCHS's reputation and tradition is tarnished beyond repair.
  7. Buddy Biggs has done a great job with the cats. He lost 3 starters who went onto to play college basketball and 6 seniors all together. These guys accounted for over 60 percent of their offense and a huge bit of their leadership. Biggs has done an amazing job to replace these players and has had an excellent season because of it.
  8. That is why i said i think. I wasnt for sure and didnt make a statement. Either way we are lucky that the Cats came out on top for the second year in a row after having to play the second best team in the district. Thats a statement.
  9. Sorry, I mean the two best teams in the district not go on to region.
  10. Shouldnt even be a contest, Pendleton by as many as they want. It is sad to see the two best teams in the region not go on to region. This makes it two years in a row. The district should be seeded and i think that can even be blamed on Pendleton. Luckily it didnt come back to bite them.
  11. In the past couple of years, when Pendleton has suffered a loss they usually turn around with an 8 or 9 game win streak. If that is the case again this time, then that will take them all the way to the finals of the state torunament. Hopefully Bigg's gets em going like he has been doing. Go Cats!
  12. I dont think white from Cambell County is overrated at all. I dont think he is as good as people think he is, Clines makes that team run.
  13. If Pendleton is included it has to be him. They lost 3 starters that now play college basketball. They accounted for over 60 percent of their points last year. To have an even better record with a very tough schedule speaks volumes. If Pendleton doesnt win, Willie from highlands should get the nod.
  14. Jon Elrod is a very good defender. He is always put on the top notch player. He can guard from a 1 to a 4.
  15. I have seen Brett White numerous times and he has yet to impress me. In the games i have saw, Marcus Clines makes that team roll.
  16. You said nine of Trinitys losses are to teams in the top 25 right? But they still loss and that is all that matters. At the end of the year the team who wins play on, and the team that loses is done. How is Ballard ranked number 2? Now is Pendleton ranked 12? I just dont understand these rankings at all.
  17. I seen one from Conner that could really throw it down
  18. Conditioning will not be a factor for the wildcats i can promise you that. Foul trouble is the only thing that has and will get in the way of the wildcats and is Highlands only hope of winning this game. Without Mains and Elliot on the floor the Cats are a completely different team, but with them on the floor they are as good a team in the state. As for individuals, Mains is looking for his 1,000th point and is coming off a poor shooting night. Look for him to be on especially since he is going against one of his former AAU teammates and good friend Vories. Vories may get some of his points but i dont think he will be able to stop Mains. As for Elliot, there is noone in the 9th or 10th region that can guard him. He is to dominant and just has a will to win.
  19. Another one few are talking about is Doug Lambert. He has a pretty good shot and can take the ball to the hole strong. If Biggs sticks around he will have this kid playing tough in two years.
  20. Three of the boys that you are talking about are Strong, More, and Monroe. The three of them have the potential to form a strong nucleus. There are some other boys who will complement them in the surrounding classes. The key is to get them to develop now by playing together in AAU or other organized basketball leagues. I predict these boys will be heard from at PCC in the future.
  21. 1. South Laurel 2. Scott County 3. Pendleton County 4. PRP 5. John Harden
