  1. King was at St. Augustine in A-Town until the fifth grade. Both of his brothers went to Bracken but his sister went to Augusta. He's at Mason though, so does this matter?
  2. A-Town will win this one by 5 by playing better defense. I know this has to be the first time anyone has said this about Augusta but if they're going to win that's how they have to do it. There were too many easy shots in the previous meeting. They have to make Hall shoot it and Hamilton get rid of it. If you want to beat the Bears, I believe that's how it is done. They're a tough team.
  3. Shouldn't you be concerned about A-Town?...I mean you didn't exactly man-handle them at the den.
  4. There's no Adam Reed or Mark Tucker in this year's All "A".
  5. You can't be serious. He's good but he's not the shooter C-Lo was in high school. Lofton is the most prolific shooter of all time in the bluegrass. He won a state championship on his jump shot alone and a runner-up. Knowles is not even in Lofton's league.
  6. How about bringing in some pitchers to wear those uniforms?
  7. You tell me what good a player does for your offense when he dribbles the ball to half court, passes, then gets out of the way?
  8. I was going to say the same thing about Louisville. If you wanna be quiet and sit...go to church! The alumni association should be ashamed.
  9. Morris didn't do much of anything. He may have made his presence felt four minutes of the entire game. Where is the penetration? Some dribble penetration would have created a lot more shots for Crawford and Morris. Jasper continues to be a major non-threat on the offensive end. Even I could come dribble the ball to half court and start the offense. The more Jasper plays, the more he reminds me of Rondo. :madman:
  10. As you watch college basketball games this season, does it seem that Rupp just doesn't have the same affect on visitors? Today, around the nation, the crowds of other schools were definitely a factor. I think that the overwhelming support from the student body has a lot to do with this. You look around the floors of other schools and you see the young demographic on their feet. I do not see this at Rupp. Why do I see nothing but retired alumni doing nothing to inspire the players on the floor? There should be a memo given to everyone as they enter the arena that standing and noise are encouraged. The "e-RUPP-tion zone" just isn't big enough. Isn't this college basketball? There isn't much of a college atmosphere at Rupp Arena, looks more like a Lion's Club or a nursing home. In conclusion, it's absolutely pathetic who gets to sit close to the action and show no emotion throughout the home season.
  11. I thought Dakota Fanning or Slim Shady would be the best but I guess Blonde Bomber has a nice ring to it. He needs to throw some self-entitled dunks down for people crown him Vanilla Thunder.
  12. I'm not a big fan of anything on Sundays but church and football. It should be Saturday night, that seems like common sense.
  13. Owens is a tough cookie and very smart player. Nick Anderson from St. Patrick also goes underrated.
  14. Bonds is a liar and a cheat. He should be stripped of his MVP's along with a ban from Major League Baseball. If Bonds can play...LET PETE IN!!!
  15. I can see Stevenson gaining strength and taking more contact down low. I think Tubby finally saw this from him and we might see a much larger lineup in certain situations with Perry at the 3.
  16. Going pro? Are you kidding me? He will be on a national level next season and his stock will rise. This is not a good move for Burton.
  17. What about my boy Joe Bayne? Who was coach when Deming beat Pendleton in the District finals in the mid 90's?...the night Staggs went off!
  18. Total agreement on Staggs. He is a very hard worker on both ends of the floor. He's more relentless on the boards than anyone I've seen this season. As for Mofford, he's really stepping it up. I'd like to see him less in junior varsity, so that he's fresh for the big game.
  19. If Darius wasn't in foul trouble first half would have been worse...had 10 pts and 10 reb
  20. I don't know if he should start but Mofford is key to success for Augusta. As they say, "You can't teach height." His timing is really good for a kid who just learned game concepts. He can also avoid contact when going for a blocked shot. Are you saying that it's all about Chris to Mofford?...Is that what you're implying? I know the kid very well and you can tell from his emotion on the court that he loves the game and wants to win. It's not selfishness, it's confidence. I agree though, Staggs is the first guy you pick going into battle. He's definitely got your back. He's mentally and physically tough. They call him "Shootie" not "Passie".
  21. First thing would be to quit trying to out jump teams. I didn't see much boxing out, if any at all, last night. Not to take anything away from Staggs because he gets great position and is relentless. I think Mofford could use some help as far as learning to get into position to get a board. He dosen't even need to box out much, height and position are very key in rebounding. But, as far as defending the post, A-Town needs a lot of improvement. I would like to see more zone as long as you can keep Nicholas from getting it into the high post. A-Town has some length with Hardymon, Groves, Mofford, Staggs and Hamilton. I think the frantic pace helped the Bluejackets more than A-Town. The pace lead to foul trouble and poor shooting for Augusta. I didn't see any shooters at all for Nicholas. But, when you're coming from behind you have no choice but to play man-to-man. Bottom line, Nicholas County out-worked Augusta from the tip.
  22. Kelly Wells at Mason County...state championship and a runner-up...three peat regional champ Was sorry to see him go.. NUFF SAID! Hard to argue Robin Kelsch at A-Town...resurrecting a program that was winning just one or two games per year when he got there. But as the old timers say...Joe Mahan was a heckuva coach. Some more of my faves: Lex Turner- Saint Patrick Willie Schlarman- Bishop Brossart Daniel Fisher- Bracken County Joe Bayne- Deming Steve Hart- Silver Grove The best I've seen this year is Salsman at Lexington Catholic.
