  1. What exactly, do you think, they are made of? I haven't seen many Lady Panthers games this season. Care to elaborate on the growing pains this season? I thought we had some juniors and seniors from last years' district runner-up. Good luck tonight anyway.
  2. They played both. The two-three was played in the first half when Bracken went on an opening 8-0 run.
  3. Chris Mofford from Augusta is improving. Russ Middleton from Mason County is real.
  4. I like that. While we're at it let's rename Mason County to Maysville Myricks. Robertson County Razorbacks Robertson County Rebels
  5. It's a diamond representing dynasty. Ramel does it because he's allowed, he's from Brooklyn. It fits UK!
  6. That was because of the poor excuse of a two-three zone Augusta was playing. They didn't find anyone to block out. Every player stood there hoping the ball would come off the rim right to them. Poor execution. I like the two-three but when you chase Hall up and down the court out of the two-three your giving up penetration and isn't that playing to Hall's advantage? He's the best penetrator in the district. Didn't Augusta lose to them using this gameplan last time? I guess Augusta thought the Bears got lucky last time, because they didn't change a thing in their gameplan. Coach Fite knew what was coming and had his players ready for it. He had four guys crashing the offensive glass the entire game.
  7. Chris Mofford from Augusta will be a dominant force next season. He will only get better as time goes on playing throughout the summers in A-Town. I also see the King twins from Deming getting much better this offseason. Right now, I have to give the all "a" to Brossart until someone convinces me not to. I don't care who they have. Their defensive scheme is almost unbeatable among class a schools. St. Patrick may surprise us next year. Owens will by far be the best player in the tournament.
  8. Who plays next? Will BBHS play the winner of that game? Very nice on the updates...you're super!
  9. I heard a certain coach tell someone after he was asked about his team and said he had kids who couldn't make 2 with a pencil.
  10. If it weren't for those I may not have had a single board...just ask Robin!
  11. He is an alum of Bracken County High and the son of long time referee Jerry Thornsbury. He currently lives in Lexington, I believe.
  12. You wouldn't happen to have the rebounding stats would ya Fray?
  13. Get at me on that too Reach! These referees in the games I've seen are goobers, not all but most. At the same time, I saw Eric Thornsbury at the Fifth/Third and he is very good and a true technician in his officiating style. I have to give props to him.
  14. My boy Mofford has really stepped it up. You can say what you want about Hamilton getting injured in that All "A" game but Mofford dominated his presence in that first half. I can't wait to see how good he gets this summer when he plays on the mean streets of A-Town.
  15. Wes Jones cooked my boneless wings at Applebee's. They were pretty good too.
  16. I believe he might have been the official at the A-Town/Bracken game in early December that turned a 1-and-1 bonus situation into a two shot foul, the turning point of the game might I add. He might have even been the official in last season's rivalry game that did the same. Talk about consistently poor. He does seem to let kids get away with things they shouldn't (over-agressiveness). As the saying goes: "Good officials go unnoticed." It's even worse when the other official in last night's game had to ask for Mr. Mitchell's assistance on a few calls he should have been in position to make correctly. Instead, the wrong call was made repeatedly.
  17. It was very poor and got sort of comedic toward the end of the basketball game. I don't think they favorered either team, they were just out of position the whole game. I'm a graduate of an all a school and this is our regional tournament every year. We simply can't compete with the larger schools in the district and region. To not have three referees in the finals was a slap in the face to schools like mine. You especially need three officials when one of the guys was out of position the entire game and asked for assistance from the other official in at least four calls, pathetic. We deserve better. I was ashamed when I left Brooksville. I hope David Stern doesn't fine me...LOL!
  18. There are quicker in the region but not dribbling through pressure. J Hall is the quickest I've seen with the ball, keeping possession I've seen this season and that includes every player you have mentioned. As for the game: Jesse Hall owned the game when A-Town came back. I'm very proud of him for taking it upon hisself to win them this game. Everyone knew Jesse could take over a game like this now everyone else left on the Bear's schedule should take notice. He sees the floor beautifully and can squirt a tear drop in through the lane over a seven footer. Bracken struggles against a zone but they hit big shots early and forced Augusta to turn up the pressure which plays to J Hall's advantage. Augusta still continues to fail in finding a rythm in the first half. When Hardymon is not on, they can't get going in the first half. He needs to step it up and show what he is capable of. A good scorer needs to get going by taking high percentage field goals to begin the game. Josh White has lost a step as someone said before. But, before you start dogging the kid let's look at this on a wider scale. He's the only one on the team that can handle the ball under pressure. White never makes a bad decision on offense. He's always on the floor after loose balls and takes at least one charge a game. And he's the team's best defensive player. He's a born leader on the floor and if weren't for him when Augusta finds themselves down ten at halftime, the team would fall apart and get blown out of the gym. He's a very intelligent basketball player.
