Big Game Player

A lot better game then I expected.....I guess Letcher just had a bad game when I watched them. Congrats to both teams and good luck the rest of the season. I would like to see some stats from this one.

Trey Short is a senior if I'm not mistaken. Garrison is a junior. Cox and little Stepp is a Sohpmore. I'm not for sure about Collins.

Just depends on who I playing and where at. But being from the 14th I'll take your picks and wouldnt worry too much about anything except coaching in a big game, ANYTHING GOES(Richie, Melton and Cook)

I'll go out on a limb and say that if they would of quit early last year then Coach Hollon would still be at PCC. Just My Thoughts on that one.

IMO, the world. He will be a consistant pg that can handle pressure, shoot, slash and has a high basktball IQ. He will be hungry because he sit out this year. With him initiating the offense, Evans which is a natural scorer(shoot or drive) and with the physicality of Murell down low then the 3 should make a tough combination. Also have T. Williams and Z. Taylor both more than capable of having 10+ any night. These kids played around 15+ games together at the JV level and only lost 3 games. The future looks better than the present for the Owls.:banana: FOrgot to mention that each of these players are at the sophmore level.

IMO they were talking more about the style and performance rather than win or losses. I know that a win is a win and a loss is loss but the Owls have done a complete 360 from the beginning of season to now. The owls havent been blown out by any of the top teams in the region. Letcher is a team playing good right now and playing close to JUne B's and Knott and the owls had a close one up till they had to start fouling. I think if you would see them play and was able to compare them to the beginning of the season then you would understand the increase in improveme. IMO the largest part of the problem for the Owls is having the ability to get over the hump. With the younger players improving as they are and they stick together this team will be there come tournament time.

These should be some good games. Each team is well matched. Powell is by far the most dominate team, IMO. I woud have to say that Owsley doesnt match up good with them but would be the favor over the other 2. Lee has some nice size but the guard spots seem to cause problems for them.

Hazard by double digits. Lee has some potential and if this game was at Lee I may even go with Lee in a nail biter but I say Hazard 87 Lee 69

I'm not for sure exact numbers but I was told by the coaching staff that the majority of players that start are sophmores. There are only like 2 or 4 juniors. The JV consist of a few sophmores, freshman and I believe he said an 8th grader.

There any girls in eastern Ky going to play basketball at the college level next year?

I've heard a couple of coach's in the region say that as far a potential goes that Perry has top 3 in teams that aernt already ranked top 2 in the region.

Where the game at? If it is at Wolfe I'll take Wolfe but at Breathitt I'd say Breathitt. These 2 teams are closely matched but the home court advantage IMO will be the difference. What I mean in that is that Wolfe(as of any other team) will/should shoot a higher percentage at home and get the benifit of the doubt on calls at home. At Breathitt I would say that Smith has a field day down low as long as he can handle Preston Wilson's physicality and hustle.

Seed, we always seed in the 56th and it makes the season games so much better. For some reason a team that hasn't won a distric game still plays hard and tries to win because if they do it may make a difference come end of season.

After watching this I have a new respect for Drew Davidson from Jackson City. He took a beaten tonight. Yes the fouls were called and the majority of his points were from the freethrow line. He had 16 and had 10 of them from the line. Owsley pressured him full court all night and it seemed to wear him down after a while. I believe he fouled 2 of Owsley's players out by getting hit and getting back up. Like I said, he's tough. This was a hard fought game on both ends of the floor. Owsley applied pressure and JC played a tough zone. Good win for the Owls and should help get their confidence up after a nice showing the other night at Powell. Goodluck to JC the rest of the season.

Perry is catching fire. I watched them play easlier in the season and then again a week or so ago and looks like 2 different teams. The biggest difference is the confidence. This teams shoots a lot of 3's and if they are hitting then they are dangerous.

I'd say a lot of teams are ashamed on how many freethrows they shoot. If a team shoots double the freethrows than the other team and beats a team that is highly ranked then cheat or no cheat you dont want to report the game because as soon as you do people start thinking you cheated. Remember the freethrow number stops at 10 on the scoreboard. I dont meant to take a cheap shot but I would bet that Clay County should be on there some from the 80's if I was guessing.

Nicely put. I still dont think that the Perry team I have watched a couple times is the team that June B. is but I could be wrong also. Looks like the time off that Cox was forced to take might had thrown them off just a tad. I say this might hurt them a tad in the rankings in the state.

I went to Perry the other day and it was $5 for everyone except just Perry students which was $2.

Nice top 20 but a few may be flipflopped. I like seeing two 14th region teams in the top 15.

June B 82 Perry 61 Both teams like to get up the shots so Ill say its gonna be high scoring. June B is more consistant than Perry and woudl beat them worse if they had Cox.

Very well said Divadawg. I agree with Hazard moving in the right direction with the hire of Big Al. He is one of the best coaches in the state and continues to win big games. Yes he most of the time has the players for one reason or another but he never lets talent go to waste. :thumb:
