Big Game Player

Its a great day for sports. Cats play at 1:30 , undefeated Patriots play tonight at 8:00 and the Championship of the Wymt is tonight. Gotta love it. I will be watching the Cats play at 1:30 and be watching the WYMT and switching it to the Pats game during breaks.

In the 14th I wouldnt count Hazard as a darkhorse because there not much difference in them and June B. IMO a Cordia, Lee or Letcher could be a come from no where darkhorse.

I havent watched some of the teams play but unless Hazard gets blown out tonight againest June B then Hazard should be in the top five without a doubt. The teams I have watched I would say this is a good outlook on the rating except for a few I may let play musical chairs.

Matt Wright went to the local Hospital there in Ervin and was examined. He was realeased later that night after taking x-rays and being examined and found to just have deep bruises around the rib cage area. I dont know if further testing will be done but if so and something comes up I will update at that time. Coming from Owsley's team and staff and being a long time friend to Matt and the Wright Family,thank you for your prayers and concerns.

Pressure as usual bothered Owsley and forced turnovers. Lee shot well from the floor and as usual they are confident and play well at home. McIntosh despite hustle had an off night. Murrell really seemed to lead a 2nd quarter and third quarter comeback. Evans took over the pg position and didn't have many turnovers just has to get confortable at the pg position. Everytime the Owls made a run Lee held their composure to fight out a 10+ lead never really loosing control of the game just a bit raddled. Drake looks to be a nice point guard that handles the pressure and really seems to hit the open man. Arron Charles never really got going due to a chaser from Owsley but did a good job of drawing the double team that led to easier baskets for the rest of the team. Charles never really got going until Owsley went man and was able to get to the freethrow line a couple times and was able to score some.

I hate to see a 14th team loose but from what I hear the good effort and showing from Knott was almost satisfactory to win. Congrats to Cumberland and goodluck in the future.

I dont think that June B and Hazard are unbeatable. I can see a Cordia or a Knott or Letcher or Breathitt having a good night and knocking off one of these two teams but I don't see any team beating both in one week. I will agree that one of these will win region.

I was told that Justin Hollon was hurt, was he out for this game?

Should make intensity of this game off the charts, especially since it is on a neutral floor. Clay will be ready for Hazard so could go either way but as of now I would predict Hazard by 8.

Hazard will have a tough first game in Clay County. I dont know how good Knox is but I'm guessing they are at least decent, but Pikeville or Breathitt is no walk through for June B. Seems to be a tough tournament with some quality mountain teams. WYMT did a good job in picking the teams this year, as usual. June B should be the favorite and Hazard or Clay as the 2nd best teams in it, IMO

Preston Wilson had 22 led all scores. McIntosh from Owsley had 17, I believe led the Owls.

I see it the same way. Hottest team wins.

Harlan had a quick concession stand. They had some Pizza options that were enjoyable since coming straight from work and jumping on a bus was the only option fo me. I also have to compliment on the room that was offered to Coaches and players. Probaly the best I've ever been to. Had options of dips, fingerfoods, chicken and dumplins and numerous deserts.

Sounds like an unexpectedly good game. Good job Cougars and looks like June B dug down and pulled out the win when times are hard. I guess we now have to add Letcher in the mix as one of the top teams in region, maybe even a possoble run at Rupp even though I'm not jumping to conclusion.

Whenever it is played IMO Hazard should come out on top. Should be a pretty good game though.

Hazard v/s June B should be the finals and June B should be the favorite. I just hope for Riversides sake that June B tries to rest Stepp in the first game for them , no matter how many points he has at half time. Buckhorn if makes it past Owsley or Leslie should give June B a good game and I'm anticipating Cordia to be a force in the tournament.

Over night trips are hard on the pocketbook but helps bond a team together and could pay off with some big wins down the road. Or could just lead to hard times in the booster meeting. If affordable then imo and experience staying over night is alright over all.

IMO Perry by under 10 since its at Perry. 68-63
