Per the All "A" Brackets. Let's discuss teams, match-ups and what it takes to win the 14th Region.

1st round winners should be Owsley, Lee, and Cordia. Jbs will defeat Riverside.

Buckhorn And Hazard should win. Wolfe and Cordia will be a tough match-up. With the overall winner being Jbs. Having said all this I know there could be upsets and I really hope there are. That would make things so much more fun!

It will come down to either June Buchanan or Hazard with my own preference being the boys from Hazard.

Hazard v/s June B should be the finals and June B should be the favorite. I just hope for Riversides sake that June B tries to rest Stepp in the first game for them , no matter how many points he has at half time.

Buckhorn if makes it past Owsley or Leslie should give June B a good game and I'm anticipating Cordia to be a force in the tournament.

JBS wins it.

It will come down to June Buchanan and Hazard in the finals, with JBS winning in a closer game than what many think.

The 14th just doesn't have the number of quality teams that they've had in years past. This is definitely a two team race... JBS and Hazard. I think JBS is clearly the favorite... Hazard is capable, but it would have to be a low scoring game for the Bulldogs to be able to hang with JBS.

Hazard. They always play well in this tournament.

If I recall Hazard beat JBS last season in the finals at Breathitt County. Then JBS defeated Hazard to advance to the state tournament.

I feel it is JBS and Hazard's tournament to lose. But It is set up (if no upsets) for JBS and BUckhorn to meet and Cordia and Hazard to meet in the semi finals. These are two teams very capable of beating someone on a good night or an off night by the other.

Yeah, it should be Hazard and JBS in the finals. But they better watch out for Cordia and Buckhorn. I will pick Hazard to win the All "A". This is Hazards T-ment.

TOP BRACKET:

JBS has no one in their bracket that is playing well at all.

Buckhorn is capable but not playing together well right now.

Owsley and Leslie are just lacking a couple players and are pretty young.

Should be JBS/Buckhorn in the semi's. They have played once already and Buckhorn was leading at halftime, but got outscored by about 20 in the 3rd quarter and had a melt down. JBS comes out of the top.

 

BOTTOM BRACKET:(LOADED BRACKET)

Lee/Hazard will be a good match up, Lee is young but Coach Wright has them playing hard for him right now and could surprise the Dogs if they are not careful. Hazard should still pull this one out.

Cordia/Wolfe shouldn't be a game. Cordia is rolling right now, they can play with anyone.

 

Hazard/Cordia semi's will be one of the best games. If Hazard can control the Hurt and Taylor kid's they will come out on top. I think Hazard just has way to many athletes for the lions, but will be a good one to watch. Hazard by 8.

 

FINALS:

JBS/HAZARD

JBS has showed they are beatable by not putting a whole game together the last few times out. This will come back and get them if they don't play for 4 full quarters against the Dogs in this one. I think the physical game that Hazard will play against JBS will hurt their style of play and again this year, just like last, Hazard will make the trip to the All A state tourney.

Hazard by 5 in a great game.
