Yes but they relied heavily on the play of the other guard that graduated. In regional play basically just the two guards with a little help from the guard that got hot for a short moment was their offense and who touched the ball mostly. With all this said in no way is Estill a bad team. I would put Lee at the favorites preseason.

Find a coach is top priority.

Found out that he actually graduated in 98' and was told he is around 28.

He played and is from Breathitt Co., he played and started for the 96' Region Champs at Breathitt under Roscoe Denny. If he graduated around 96'then that puts him(give or take a year) around 31 years young. Perfect age for a solid coach. Hate to see him leave the game. Enjoyed his coaching and personality on and off the court. Goodluck to Principal Lively in the future.

I find this to be the largest contribution. Here in a small county in youth leagues if not enough girls to make up 2 or more teams then the girls play on the boys team. In youth I mean 6th grade and under. This encourages the girls to participate because more fans seem to come to boys games and they get more encouragement from the community. And in the youth some girls can outplay the boys. Most of these girls seem to always stick with it.

Keep your eyes open because just like Coach Denny, Coach Davidson is capable of pulling out a little this and that as long as it wins the games. Hopefully same outcome in the winning bracket will occur. Congrats to Coach Davidson and goodluck in the future, we here in Owsley still believe.:thumb:

Started under Roscoe Denny at Breathitt the year they won the 14th region. Assistant coach two years under Coach Cornwell in 04 and 05 and then was assistant again last year under coach Nobel. May be more , thats just what I know of.:thumb:

Are you serious?? Noble might live in Breathitt and he is from Breathitt so yea it sounds understandable about the thought of him going back. But with the addition of the other factors for Owsley's side, give him his first coaching job when his home town wouldnt even consider him, gave him all the time and support he needs from administration and community even though he didnt win 10 games last season and still expect him to be successful in the future. So nothing againest you HDE but it does "irk" us a little when something like this pops up. And the thing that makes this all the saddest is that he still may not land a job in Breathitt on July 15th. And to add on to that to make things even better is that Breathitt just doesnt want him for coaching, politics come into play and they may just hire him to get some kids back in the community and save their own tail for a couple years. Eventhough this sounds like I am anti-Doug Noble , I'm not. I wish him well and hope he is successful wherever he is on the sideline next year. If he is at Breathitt then I will be rooting for him every game except if the other team is Owsley.

Clark would be on the 3rd team maybe in Clint's spot on this list maybe, imo. Clint is not close to making these teams. Put Clint in the 3pt contest and get out of his way, yes. But being an all around player, No.

I dont know if he'll be a consistant starter but there are a strong possibility since he does have some size and experience. His body and presence of poistion around the goal and just happen to be in the right spot at the right time are his strengths. He has a promising future of playing time anywhere he ends up and will help any team in the upcoming future. If I was a betting man I would say he ends up at Breathitt but thats imo.

Yeah same thing I hear. If coach Noble goes to Breathitt then he goes to Breathitt. If Coach Noble goes back to Owlsey then there a chance to Owsley but the chances favor staying at Perry overall.

Are you talking about the young Stepp? Clark Stepp has a chance at making these teams as a pg but there are no way that his little brother makes top three teams next year. I know he has the capability of knocking down a large quantity of threes but no way does he make my top 3 combinations of teams. He would be a great sixth man to have on the bench though, imo.

Congrats to coach Green for returning to the sideline. Glad to see him there and wish him the best of luck with the talent he has to work with. Wish he could of stepped in a year earlier with that team.

Can anyone list some names that at least have the requirement? Even if you think they may not be in the running.

I can understand from an fan point of view why people would want a shot clock. But coming from a competitor I see no reason for a shot clock, except in the NBA. I think everyone watches too much NBA and think that isolation and run and gun is how it should or has to be played, team play has went down hill. Four out of the last nine years a slower paced team in the Spurs have won the NBA Championship. They don't get the rating and media attention eventhough they get the job they set out to do done and done right, they win. Everyone has to remember that NBA is for show and profits and is looked at as a business. They adjust their rules the majority of the time to suite the fans not because it benifits the players. Add a shot clock does help fans attention focus on the game but takes away from the over all integrity of the game imo.
