First off congrats Campbell County on a hard fought game and comeback. Good luck the rest of the tourney. I just wanted to mention the great job that Coach Patrick Kelsch did at the end of the season to get Bracken County playing well and surprise some people. They almost pulled off a huge upset and the Lady Bears should keep their heads held high and look forward to next season. Great job Coach Kelsch and the Bracken County Lady Bears!!

The tournament is going to be interesting. District winners are already praying that they don't draw the 40th. Good luck to all teams!

What about this format?!! Take all 64 district winners and make a seeded bracket just like the NCAA!! There would be regional sites throughout the state just like in college. Final Four would be at Rupp Arena. This will never happen but would be very interesting. What do you all think?

Congrats Pendleton County Wildcats!! Coach Simms, Coach Cox, Coach Wirth and Coach Sowder got these boys to start playing their best ball at the right time of the year. This definitely makes up for a below average regular season. I am proud of the kids who stuck it out because at times it was very tough. You have been rewarded with a district title that nobody can take away from you! Enjoy it! Good luck in Mt. Sterling. The draw will be interesting to see. This 38th district title makes 4 out of 5 for Pendleton County. 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 This is a great example of, "It's not always the best team who wins the tournament, It's the team who gets hot at the right time."

There have been quite a few upsets so far, but luckily all of my region picks are still alive!

37: Campbell County, Scott 38: Pendleton County, Deming 39: Mason County, Augusta 40: Montgomery County, Clark County Looks like an interesting field. Mason County is the obvious favorite. Amazingly Pendleton County, Deming or Augusta all have a leigit chance of making the Region Semi-Finals. Looks like it's going to be a great tourney down in Mt. Sterling. Good Luck to all teams.

Congrats to the LadyCats!!! LBBC, when is the last time both PC's boys and girls made the regional tourney? Mid 90's maybe?

Nobody deserves three straight trips to the regional tourney more than Coach Robin Kelsch. A very classy individual who gets the most out of his players. He does a great job on the small school level. At a place like Augusta, making the region is like making it to state. Enjoy!

True. Pendleton County really doesn't have a true rival. The teams that you could possibly make a case for already have rivals: Bracken County-Augusta, Bishop Brossart-Campbell County. It doesn't help that we have had two district realignments within the last 12 years. This kind of hurt Pendleton's chance of keeping a district rival. Here is how the 38th district has changed over the past years: ?-1996 Augusta, Bracken County, Deming, Pendleton County 1996-2005 Bishop Brossart, Bracken County, Campbell County, Pendleton County, Silver Grove 2005-Today Deming, Harrison County, Nicholas County, Pendleton County If we were going to start a rivalry with someone now it would probably be Harrison County.

I attended this game. I believe it was December 1996 at Campbell County's old Christmas Tournament. Pendleton County was playing West Carter. Senior David Turner (Talbert's younger brother) scored 55 points on basically one knee. He had injured his knee during the first half that game and still went on to score 55. Some of this information might need to be tweaked, but I am positive that he scored 55 points in Campbell's Tournament one year.
