Pendleton 63 Deming 62 OT

So many great stories in this one.

Nice job ladies. Very nice job.

Enjoy the trip to regionals.

This game went into overtime. PC turned the ball over with 4-5 seconds left in overtime, tie score. Deming throws the ball in and turns it over with 2.3 seconds left. PC inbounds and Shannon Lorenz is fouled with 1.3 seconds left. Shannon hits the 1st one and missed the 2nd. Deming did not get off a last shot.

Deming had 3 players to foul out and PC had 1 to foul out.

Deming had too many turnovers. Hit 24-39 free throws.

PC shot poorly from the field. Hit 20-31 free throws.

Both teams had chances to take commanding leads, but it never happened.

1st regional appearance for the Ladycats in 10 or 12 years.

Nice job Lady Cats!:ylsuper:

Congrats to the LadyCats!!!

LBBC, when is the last time both PC's boys and girls made the regional tourney? Mid 90's maybe?

It's okay, just letting you know :thumb:

Deming had 4 players foul out, 3 of whom are starters.

Congrats to the LadyCats. They kept their composure and did the right things at the right times.

70 free throws total. Physical game, or just called tight?

The last time the Ladycats went to the region, I believe, was the year of the Flood, 1997.

Yes, on both counts.

Game started weird as Pendleton got the tip and drove to the basket then stopped and started dribbling the other way.

Referees never caught that Pendleton was going the wrong way after grabbing the tip and had committed an over and back violation.

When the Pendleton player turned to go the right way, the refs realized then what had happened and made the call. Only a few seconds later, there was a jump ball and they tried to give it to Pendleton.

On the last foul call, it is a play that has been called 3 different ways. Foul on defense (as was called last night), foul on offense, or no call. Last night, it was a foul on the defense. And Shannon Lorenz hit the first free throw to win the game.
