Bracken Co 48 St Pat 44 (39th District)

Featured Replies

Final.

Bracken Co beats the Saints in the Semi's of the 39th district.

St Pat beat Bracken Co twice in the season.

But Bracken Co beats them when it counts.

Bracken Co awaits the winner of Mason Co vs Augusta for the 39 district Championship.

Congrats to Patrick K!

St. Patrick finishes the season 11-15.

Bracken Co., is 13-11.

Congrats Coach Kelsch and the Lady Bears!! Good luck in the district finals and the regional tournament!

Congrats to the Lady Bears and their Coaching Staff.

These girls played their hearts out and put together a great team effort.

Great goob by my favorite Lady Bear Alex Rogers, came off the bench and played very well.

Congrats to the Lady Bears and Interim Head Coach Patrick Kelsch. What a storm to weather in making the transition from assistant to acting Head Coach and getting your girls on the same page. There has never been a doubt in my mind that you would be the top guy in some program. Congrats to you and your Lady Bears. It was a great night if your last name was Kelsch, and welcome to the 10th Region Tournament next week. Best of luck come Thursday in the championship game.

Yo Dreamer, that's the unbeaten Patrick Kelsch to you. 5-0 baby!

I second the good luck in the finals, and best of luck in the region draw and at Campbell next week.

Great game from my end, probably the best (most competitive) I've called yet. I don't have my sheets in front of me, but I believe that there were 21 lead changes and 7 ties.

I was impressed by Anne Klee tonight for St. Pat, and I thought Hannah Haight had a great all-around game for Bracken.

See everyone at the Igloo tomorrow!

Lets not forget, the Lady Saints, I believe were without 3 starters and still almost won. Lets see how Coach Kelsch does against the Lady Royals on his home court and in the region with this talented team.

I didn't forget it, I don't have to include that in sending congrats to a young head coach that led his team to a victory. Injuries are a part of life and part of the game. Elaine Douglas of St. Patrick would not make excuses, just go play with what you have. Coach Kelsch didn't forget your theory, you can read for yourself All In. Give credit once in a while where its due bud.

Congratulations to the Lady Bears. They really played hard and deserve recognition. As far as the coach, I believe both were there at the game. The reputation of a coach is based on more than their record. Screaming at a group of young ladies during just about every timeout kind of takes away from his achievement.

I wish we could just talk about the game and not take jabs at people involved in the game. Bracken County moves on, win the one that counted the most, and congrats to both teams. The future for St. Patrick looks pretty good.

First off, welcome to the site, rook.

Second off, let's talk about your statement I bolded above. To quote my good friend Billy, "Whoa, whoa, whoa Miss Lippy."

You're talking about an interim/acting head coach that has taken over and motivated his team to five straight wins. Maybe this "yelling" you speak of (whjch, by the way, I didn't notice being anywhere near out of hand) is just that: motivation. It seems to be working so far.

I don't think anything Coach Kelsch did last night that takes away from his or his team's achievement, and that's defeating a team that was 2-0 against them in the regular season, and earning a berth in the regional tournament. I would think if you polled the Lady Bears themselves, they'd say the same thing.

To me, a good coach does yell at his players ... of course, within reason. If things aren't going the way they're supposed to be, this is one of the fundamental parts of a timeout. Plus, Coach Kelsch has been an assistant there for five years, and I think he may know more than any poster on here what his players need to get them going.

Back to the point: congratulations to the Lady Bears on a big win, and the Lady Saints for a great season. And good luck to Coach Kelsch and Bracken County tomorrow night in the championship.

I guess I'm out of the loop. What happened to the female coach?

Due to personal reasons, Coach Schultz I was informed through newpapers and radio media that she has stepped aside and Coach Kelsch was promoted as the acting coach. To be noted: Coach Schultz is on the bench, just not in the acting role as the Head Coach. Maybe PK can enlighten us a little more on this subject.
