Transfer from JBS to PCC.......
He did have a good game against KCC last year but the statement is still true that he averaged about 3 points a game last year.

Transfer from JBS to PCC.......
Cox will return to June Buchanan and is currently playing summer ball there. There are absolutely no truth to the rumors that he will transfer. The 6'8" center who got hurt is back and they only had one senior last year who averaged about 3 points a game. They will actually return 5 people who started last year. I saw them play against Johnson Central in summer ball and they have some other young kids that will have a big impact this year. They have a 6'6" kid named Trey Short that will play a big role this year along with Clark Stepps younger brother who will be a freshman...

14th region top teams
June Buchanan will be loaded for the next year. I think PCC and Hazard both will have good teams also.

53rd District in 06-07
THe overwhelming favorite in the 53rd will be June Buchanan. They return everyone and will get their big guy back who will probably be 6'9 or 6'10 by the start of the season. They also will get alot of production from kids who have matured and will make a big impact. Garrison Collins,Ryan Conley and Trey Short are three big factors to go along with the backcourt duo of Stepp and Cox who averaged about 45 points a game last year with them being only sophomore and 8th grader. If this team gels they will be a possible top 20 team in the state by years end. I hear they will have a tough schedule next year playing in the 5th/3rd,WYMT,and possibly King of the BLuegrass. They have been invited to all three.

What Was your Favorite Game at This Years Sweet Sixteen??

Predict the Districts in the 14th!!
Looks good to me.................

Fifth Third or Sweet Sixteen
There are without a doubt better teams at a 5/3 or other tournaments but nothing can compare to the excitement of the kids that go and yell for their teams and will remember that their whole life. I am sure these kids will not have the same memories of a 5/3 or other tourney because they probably dont even go watch these games unless it is close to them. The good thing is that tourneys have a place that is very important to the schools that are fortunate to participate.....

Classes in Basketball
A 4 class system would ruin basketball in KY . You have a system that has worked well for many years so don't mess with it. There are about 50% of schools in KY that qualify for the ALL A tourney so that gives the smaller schools a chance to compete with schools their size. The Sweet 16 is something that is special to alot of people.

Shot clocks in highschool?
I would love to see a shot clock but probably never will. I think a shot clock of 40-45 seconds would really be fun to watch. Maybe if they had one in the state tournament this year it would not have been so boring with one or both teams scoring in the 30's almost every game.

Top Teams in 2007
The thread was not for the best team in the state just some top teams.

Best player on each sweet 16 team you saw this week?
I saw some good high schools players but not many D1 players. Slaughter will make it but most others will be small college players. Nothing wrong with that though.............

Top Teams in 2007
Watch for a very good young team from JUNE BUCHANAN. They will be playing in the 5th/3rd,wymt,and possibly King of the Bluegrass. This is a very young and talented team that could turn the tide for mountains schools. They have Stepp and Cox at guards and big size inside.

Sweet 16 advice for mountain region players/coaches
A bad year for the whole state. I was not impressed with any team in the tourney. This can't be the best the state has to offer.

Jeffersontown 61 Apollo 48
This was a better game than most in the tourney. This was the lowest scoring sweet 16 I have ever watched. There were many boring games in the tourney. Congrats to J-Town..............

Top Teams and Players in the 14th Region NEXT YEAR??
JBS will definitely be the preseason favorite. They bring back all their players and also get back their 6'8" center who didnt get to play in the postseason. I am hearing he will probably be 6'10" by next season. They will also have some more kids that will have an impact next season. With or without Landon Slone JBS will be the team to beat in the 14th because they probably would have won the region this year if they had not lost their center at the end of the year. He is an awesome defensive player that changes the tempo of the game.
-
Landon Slone to JBS?
I am hearing that JBS is playing in the 5th/3rd,wymt, and possibly the KIng of the Bluegrass. This would be good exposure for him for college. JBS will be the preseason favorite in the 14th without him and with him this would be something to see.....
-
Landon Slone to JBS?
If it did happen this would be the best team to come out of the mountains in a long time. Besides these three guards they would probably start a 6'10" center and possibly a 6'6" forward at the other spot.

Pleasure Ridge Park 58 Madison Central 45
MC looked like a different team than they did yesterday.............
-
Landon Slone to JBS?
The biggest talk I have heard at the Sweet 16 is that Landon Slone has told people at the tourney that he is transferring to June Buchanan. If he does JBS would be an instant contender for at least an ALL A Title. JBS would have 3 guards that averaged 62 points a game last year.
-
Russell , South Laurel
This is the worst offensive sweet 16 I have ever watched......
-
Madison Central 81 Hazard 44
Madison Central looked as good as any team I have seen in the tourney. They have great size and shoot the ball well. They also had the biggest fan base at the tourney. Their crowd probably doubled any other team there.
-
jbs in 06
They will be the definite favorite in the 14th and possibly one of the favorites to win the ALL A title......I have heard some strong rumors that Landon Slone from Paintsville might be transferring in and if that happens then they will probably be a top 10-15 team statewide. If Slone does come there they will have three guards that averaged over 60 points last year. That would be an awesome team.............
