The G-town camp is this week starting on Wednesday... what all teams will be in attendance???

Campbell County will be attending the Georgetown team camp this week.

How long does it last?

Lee Co. will be at the camp. KCC is probably Knott Co Central. Prelim game on Wednesday afternoon, games every day ending on Saturday afternoon.

I hear that this is one of the premier camps in KY. for summer ball...

Are there afternoon games too? Or just night games? What time of day do the games start?

He's probably referring to Knott County Central, but all the schools with "Central" attached to their name can be confusing. There's also PCC (Perry County Central), LCC (Letcher County Central) in the 14th region. In the 13th there's Knox Central, which is constantly being confused with Knott County Central by the media. I've never understood why these new consolidated schools want to add "Central" to their name. There seems to be a hundred "Centrals" out there. Many of them simply put "Central" on the front of their uniforms. There's no identity. Why couldn't the new schools simply call themselves Madison County, Johnson County, Knott County, Perry County, etc? Why all the Centrals?

I've heard that the new school in Harlan County will be called Harlan County High, with no "Central" added. Thank goodness we won't have to add HCC to LCC, PCC, KCC, etc.. Enough of,

I just hope that when Laurel County does build their 3rd high school (currently on the drawing board), that they don't call it Laurel County Central. From the plans, I believe it will be West Laurel since that is where much of the growth in population is occurring. That, I can handle, but no more Central's! :thumb:

I have never understood why they didn't leave Laurel County High as it was when they built North Laurel. I mean, why add South to the name. It's the same building. They didn't build a new one, or change locaion. Now, if North Laurel is "north" of the old school, well, call it North. But there was no reason to add "South" to the original school.

 

In the KHSAA Sweet 16 program last year they had Laurel County winning one state championship, and South Laurel winning one. IMO the school has won two championships. The school never changed, they just gave up some of their students because of an overcrowded situation, to form a new school. Laurel County High is still in the same spot that they were in when they won the other title in 1982. And both championship teams are still known as the Cardinals.

Any results from todays games? Only ones I know....Campbell Co lost to Lee Co and have beat Boyle Co.
