Lee Co won over Boyle Co late last night to end with an 10/3 record; JBS finished with 11/2 and I think that Scott Co was undefeated.

 

Optional tournament games today with Lee vs Henry Clay at 11:20 am. Lots of teams chose not to play in the tournament---it's been a long week.

How did Shelby Vallley do this week? How do they look this summer?

 

They looked very good all week. They started 3 Freshemen,1 Soph & 1 JR, the only possible Sr starter did not come to camp due to family illness. I can see them giving Paintsville or anyone else a run in the 15th this year. Look out 15th as the next 4 years may be SVHS to lose! I like the make up of their team better than Paintsville as SV kids seem to like each other & play good team ball. These kids know how to play the game.

Lee Co lost to Henry Clay by a shot at the buzzer, so finished their week at Georgetown with a 10/4 record. 2 of the 4 losses were to Henry Clay and one was to Paintsville in OT by a shot at the buzzer.

Scott Co wouldn't play by the rule that gives you a point if you are fouled, all other games were played that way. I think that makes up for the boys they had missing. They beat JBS by 9 and they fouled all they wanted to. Then Logan WVA upset them in a 10 oclock game on Friday night, first loss. JBS beat Tates Creek, Dunbar, Henry Clay and Paintsville

Scott Co shouldn't have been allowed to play if they refused to play by the same rules that everyone else was playing by.

 

Lee didn't play Scott Co, Tates Creek or Dunbar but did beat Logan WV pretty handily in their first game of the week. HC beat Lee twice, last time by a buzzer shot.

Kind of surprising that Logan would be able to upset them as they lost like 12 seniors from last years state semi-final team, but I know Mark Hatcher does a great job up there, and has a good program.

Also Belfry for the second time .Sometimes a team just doesn't play well after playing from 10 am to 10 pm . It was their 9th game. Everybody has an off game sometimes.

Oh no doubt. That is one reason summer is hard to judge by. My team this summer got beat by a team by 24, and 2 days later beat the same team by 14. Same players both days on both teams. In the summer you just never know.

Dayton was there and played in the Varsity "B" division. I beleive that they ended 5 and 5, but lost their last 4 games to go 5-9 when they lost three of their starters, one was injured and I think the others had some kind of prior committments. W's over N.Oldham(B),Menifee Cty.,Eastern(B),Phelps, and Estill Cty. I know they lost in the tourney today to S.Floyd by 9. They also had close losses to Franklin Ohio (1pt), Blanchester Ohio (2), N Oldham the first time (3), Collegiate (3), and S. Floyd the first time (5).

 

Good showing for such a small NKY school on a somewhat bigger stage...

 

On a side note, I saw the last game against South Floyd and they have a kid that shot lights OUT! I mean he was probably 8 for 10 from the arc. Anyone know who this kid is?

The team that JBS beat 36 pts. Beth Haven , beat Logan by 12. It just happens when they are playing 4 games a day.
