  1. I would think that would be an insult to your coach to say he wasnt prepared for a team that won 25 games last year and brought everybody back....
  2. I think the kid you are talking about #4 is Zach Hurt from Cordia instead of Buckhorn. He is a nice player though.. I think Buckhorn plays very hard and I hope they do well in the tourney...
  3. I think if JBS can get out of the 14th in the All A they will have a good shot to win some games in Richmond. They will have some stiff competition against Hazard and others to get out. It seems it is always hard for teams to win that first All A regional title but I think they have a good shot this year.
  4. If you saw them play last year you saw the same team that they will have for a 2 or 3 more years. They have improved alot since last year partly because they were so young they have just matured. Garrison Collins is 6'9 this year and is improving every game. He needs to play against more big men to get better. They also start Trey Short who is 6'6" and Brent Hall who is about 6'3" and a great rebounder. When you add these guys to Stepp and Cox it makes for a good team. I do agree with you that they should not schedule Piarist even though it is only once. They do play a much harder schedule this year and are in the 5th/3rd and Wymt tourneys. I agree with you that they need to schedule more out of mountains games if at all possible next year. They were invited to play in the King of Bluegrass but can only play in two tourneys per year. They are still a young team since they dont start any seniors so even if they do lose some games in the 5th/3rd it will be good experience..
  5. JBS beat 5 teams that were the Lexington Herald preseason top 25 this summer. They went 22-3 this summer playing mostly 4a schools. Their only losses were to Scott CO (2 times) once by 7 and once by alot, and also to a West Virginia State Champion School in a close one.: You will probably watch them play soon in the All A State Tourney where I think they have a good shot to win the whole thing.IMO
  6. There is a good chance June Buchanan will make the All A and Sweet 16 tourneys this year so maybe you can go watch them play and make an educated response rather than just your guess.
  7. 1. JBS 2. Hazard 3. PCC 4. Lee 5-10 ?
  8. The game was on WKCB last night. THey cover some games for KCC,June Buchanan, and Cordia. They are covering the PCC/Mason and Cordia game tonight. They also do the state tournament every year.
  9. THis Vanhoose kid is a really nice player.....
  10. June Buchanan could not play in the MCIT because they play in the 5th/3rd and WYMT this year and a team can play in only 2 tourneys that count as one game. \ I think next year they are scheduled to play in the 5th/3rd and King ot the Bluegrass.. I think they would have liked to play there if their schedule would have fit. Mason seemed to be a class team and well coached and this is the kind of team you need to play to get better.
  11. The difference in these two teams is just the depth of SL. They have too much depth for Corbin at this point in the season. If Corbin wants to make a run at SL in the region some kids besides Crawford are going to have to step up their game.
  12. He is a great player and shows good sportmanship....
  13. I guess JBS cant be any good since they are from the 14th? Why dont you come watch them play in the 5th/3rd and see for yourself how good they are. Mason didnt overlook JBS they just couldnt stop JBS...In the prediction thread someone wrote that JBS had a good team but things are different when you leave the mountains.....Ask Mason County.....
  14. Yes they start 2 juniors,two sophs,and a freshman.....
  15. I tried to tell everyone in the prediction thread that this June Buchanan team can play with anyone. They are flat loaded...They play in the 5th/3rd tourney later this month and playing teams like this will only make them better...
  16. Knott Co should win this one by 7....
  17. Hicks is the best shooting guard in the 14th no doubt. But as far as the best combo Stepp and Cox are the two best hands down. They are scoring about 50 per game.
  18. Stepp had 37 Cox 22 and rest of players contributed well. Collins,Trey Short and Brent Hall played real well inside. They played very good defense.
  19. I think PCC is the best team of the two so I will say PCC by 5.
  20. Stepp did have 40,Cox played but seemed to not feel well. Magoffin plays very hard and Nehi West gets the most out of his players..
  21. Final at Pikeville Expo Center...
  22. If they play well JBS could keep this game closer than most think but I agree that it will be real hard for them to beat an awesome Mason Co team. I think this is a good game for JBS to play because you get better when you play better competition.
  23. Scott County could be alot of small college teams.......
  24. Breathitt should have no problem in this one........
