I agree that JBS has a great shot at winning this. I didnt think at the beginning of the season that they would have the maturity to win the region this year. After looking how things have played out they might not have to wait for next year....

I'm not sure if you are aware of this but you lost all six of these games....

Did Owsley have all their players in both games? I know Smith was out most of the season.

I looked at your schedule and I hope you dont really think that is a hard schedule. You have played a very weak schedule so dont pick on Riverside. It amazes me that people can take a few games on a teams schedule and base their whole season on that. JBS has 22 wins and 5 losses....But come on up and we will have free cupcakes in the hospitality room.

I sure wouldnt want to play Leslie after their close loss to Hazard in the district finals.

I don't think it hurts anyones feelings but the truth is that a name alone will not get you into the regional tournament. There is alot of parity in all eastern ky regions this year. It might sound weak in name alone but if you watched these teams play you might be impressed.

I dont think June Buchanan will have any problem with Estill in this one. The June Buchanan kids have played many years on this floor and play very well on it. They have the advantage of not traveling and will have a huge crowd present. Stepp and Cox are playing extremely well and 5 or 6 other kids are contributing every time their number is called. I think JBS will win this one by around 12......

Leslie County by 6 in this one....

I saw in the paper that Stepp had 39. He played a very good 2nd half and showed good composure for a sophomore. Cox also played a good game and had 17....

THis Cordia team is very good and whoever plays them in the region better play good or they will be in trouble.

June Buchanan hit their free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Cordia has a very good team and are well coached and will be a tough opponent for anyone to face in the regional.

This will be a very good regional tourney....

I'm not sure of the points but Cox had a great game. This kid is unbelievable for an 8th grader. He plays with unbelievable composure for his age.

I agree that Tate Cox is sometimes overshadowed by Stepp but both are very good players and Cox will get his recognition in due time. Cox is a special player that has a great future.

JBS will win if they go into the game determined to win the district title and not just happy to be playing in the region. I also think it will be a close game.

I am not use to thinking of Estill Co in the region. I have not watched them play. Do they have any size?

The thing about district finals are that both teams know they will be playing in the region. Sometimes teams dont play as hard in games like these as they do in elimination games.

Hazard better be thankful that they have a coach like Spurlock and not let him go anywhere. There is a good chance if he does leave he will end up at Allen Central. The coach there just resigned and this is Sprlocks old school.

Yes the region is wide open. The team that gets hot in the region will come away with the trophy.
