This...I think as many kids are being pushed to the portal as are making the decision on their own. Old days in football you had recruiting classes for the big boys of 25-30. Probably only 1/2 of those ever saw significant roles. Others were role players or possibly transferred to smaller schools seeking playing time. Now coaches who see kids as "bust" are showing them the door via the transfer portal... Simple solution, make players start signing 1-3 year contracts and treating it like the professional sports model it is.

Unless you lined up in a punt formation maybe...Not sure how that works on 1st down rule wise.

I think West will be the best team in region by tournament time.

This was an exciting match. I don't normally watch volleyball, but I was glued to this match from the get go. Every point in the 4th and 5th sets were drama filled.

It really is too bad that it isn't No 6 Ole Miss vs No 11 Notre Dame and No 5 Oregon vs No 12 Vandy.

There are a lot of really good middle school coaches out there. For football minded guys who like to coach, but maybe don't have the time to dedicate to weekend film work etc...helping with middle schools can be a good avenue to help a surrounding program.

5 A is arguably the weakest class (Top 10 teams in a class) in KY at the current time. Chances of making a run are much better in 5A than in 6A.

Multiple middle schools = a lot more kids playing football. If all 3 teams that feed MC have a team, you might get 20 8th graders a year per team that have all played significant minutes the MS level. If you have 1 team, that limits the kids playing in this scenario.

Rash is definitely one the best HS venues in the State of KY. Fans right on top of you...downtown atmosphere around the stadium...It's a really cool set up.

It shouldn't be a shootout with that kind of talent on Defense:)

I will give Pope credit in the second half. He went with a defensive/athletic line up and realized he was going to have to out athlete IU because we sure weren't going to out basketball them. Defense, and offensive rebounds turned this game around. Not sure if this recipe will work in SEC, we need to start hitting some shots.

So far this season when the bright lights of major college basketball shine on this UK team...it has turned us into the kiddy cats. Until they prove to me they can handle the pressure of being a player at UK with the subsequent expectations and pressures that go along with that, I say IU 78 UK 67.

Maybe...I am not sure how you motivate 20 year old millionaires who get paid their money up front. Maybe you put them on the bench and label them a cancer but that isn't the modern way of doing business because it will bite you in the recruiting wars.

32 team playoff... first round Thanksgiving weekend with 16 games spread out over Friday and Saturday. Thanksgiving weekend becomes the new "New Years Day" of College football.

Can you imagine 16 games on the Friday/Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, along with NFL on Thursday and Sunday...If you favorite HS team is playing a little Semi final action HS football... It would be an incredible weekend.

First round games Thanksgiving weekend. 2 weeks off before NC...played on or around new years.

32 team playoff... Do away with conference championships. 31 games...give them a bowl name.

I predicted Gonzaga 90-72. UK is bad and getting worse. Too many folks are making excuses...last year those guys played hard and played together. Carr missed time, Butler missed time, Robinson missed time...but guys played hard and together. We have none of that right now. That is a problem talent alone won't fix.

I am afraid Ohew is the classic "star" when he wasn't expected to be followed by "dud" when the limelight and pressure are placed on him to be the man.

Terrible look by Hazard. They were terrible 2 years ago. Last year showed improvement and this year played one heck of a tough schedule with a young team and were competitive. Anyone from outside of Hazard who would think of moving their family there to coach, should think twice before even applying.
