Final from Rupp. The Cats outscored the Hoosiers 30-11 the last 14:11 of the game to get the win.

 

 

Much better effort and fight by the Cats tonight, especially in second half. Hopefully they saw tonight, that playing hard and fighting makes a huge difference. They still have a lot to improve on, but tonight was a good step at least in the effort area. Good win tonight! Go Cats!

UK had the better SOS and had Lowe.  

Dioubate is probably under valued on this team. He is just so consistent that it can be easy to over look at times. He brings energy and confidence and is a solid player.

He came off the bench tonight, after missing several games due to injury, and had 14 points and 12 rebounds. 

Pretty scary for a while. Had to have that win. 

The Cats were way down when I went outside to shovel snow, just got back in front of my computer and what a pleasant surprise. 

Charles Barkley with a lot of good comments tonight, but that was tough listening for much of the night. The first half I was wondering if the broadcast crew knew they were watching a basketball game. All they wanted to talk about was sideshow baloney and memory lane.

UK defense was very good in the second half and that led them to victory. Once they got the lead it seemed to turn the corner for both teams. Suddenly IU looked lost on the floor and UK had a good flow. But this is one of the worst shooting UK teams I can remember. They were 3-15 on 3 pointers tonight. They are going to have to do what they did in the second half - attack the basket and attack the boards looking for second shots. I would work on full court pressure to speed things up and help the half court defense. Use depth, be relentless with pressure and wear teams down. Try to get some easy baskets out of pressure and transition.

Lowe and Dioubate were big difference makers. I liked Garrison's game tonight also.

Beating teams they should but not teams they need to so far. Indiana is not a very good team nor are our Cats, but we get the W. The effort in the second half was what has been missing all year, and Garrison played like he took the benching last game personally. Let’s hope it carries over the rest of the season.

The effort was there, and it seemed like he fed off of it. 

Watched the game live, they did everything right on offense with screening and moving without the ball, just not shooting the rock well, bad misses with air balls and complete bricks, just nothing pure, played extremely hard and left skin on the floor several times and the faithful fully recognized the efforts, hopefully a launch game for Ky.

Does Dickie V. ever comment on the game being played?

I will give Pope credit in the second half.  He went with a defensive/athletic line up and realized he was going to have to out athlete IU because we sure weren't going to out basketball them.  Defense, and offensive rebounds turned this game around. 

Not sure if this recipe will work in SEC, we need to start hitting some shots.
