If Edmondson can shoot like he has lately,I would be fearful if I had to play them. Very streeky shooter, but when he is on he can be deadly.

Austin Hill for Holmes, He has had to carry his team all year with DJ missing and with all the suspended players. I think he will keep this team together, he and DJ want to win the 9th ad I think they will step up and put guys in check.

Two more games and the dawgs will be full streght, I wonder what coach H will do at this point. I think everyone will contribute, but I agree what I read from another thread, these players will need to prove there worth and that they will be team players or sit the bench. I am proud of this team of young dawgs, they have either won or had a chance to win every game played. Keep up the good work, this experience bodes well for the dawgs future. DD

COVCATH wins this battle over a very depleted Holmes team. It won't matter the sead in the districts for Holmes, they will be ful stregth by then. All players missing will be back including their floor general. And the 9th Region tourney is at Holmes this year I believe, Holmes will only get better as the season goes on in my book because of the younger players having to step in and play for the missing players. Was at the game Friday night, and this is without a doubt the best coaching job Henley has done there in his 10 years. The coaching staff deserves a lot of credit for having Austin and our puppies ready to play.

Those guys graduated in class of 89 or 90, My 93 class had Chris Hayes, Ethan Purcell, Chris Sullivan, Tim Sullivan, I am trying to think of the rest.

The bottom line is you live and hopefully learn from your mistakes. Last year every player wanted to be the star andd know one took the leadership role. This year from the beginning Austin has stepped up and took conrol of this team. Greg Rice has become coachable and if eveything stays the way it is, this team can go far. Time will tell, but IMO I think this team will stay focused on the overall goal, which is to make it back to rupp and hopefully bring home a state trophy. My advise is to continue to play unselfish ball and listen to Coach Henley. Good luck Dawgs you know I'm pulling fo ya.

It looks like the dawgs took care of buisness yesterday. Does anybody have any stats on this one, I couldn't make the journey down to South Oldham.

He may be 6.2-6.3 but he plays much bigger than he is, the same was Arrezz does. By the way I gave SK there props, but Holmes did play terrible or the outcome may have been much different. I know these kids and they were not playing at 100% percent.

I have had similar conversations and I feel the same way my Holmes friend.

Hey guys you think maybe you have beaten the dead horse enough, I for a fact am very close to this program and many of the players read theses boards. Lets have a little respects for the kids that are affected by what is said on here. I agree Holmes has problems, but I would willing to bet that hardley any of you know what these kids daily lives consist of. For some of these young men they look to the coaches and volunteers for guidance because in some cases the home life is a disaster. I invite you to apply for a job to teach at this school and coach at this school. I feel good that I have the oppurtunity to spend the last 5 years with these wonderful kids. And you know what I due it for free, I could go some where else where winning is everything, but if I can teach a few of these kids enough about life that can get a great job or go college or even join the military and succeed I feel I am content. Am I happy about being 3-7 or 4-6 the last few years. absolutly not, I believe winning is important, but the main thing we can due is to groom these young men so that they may succeed at the most important thing. Life after school. If you disagree with me, fine, but this is how I feel about the issue at hand. And the great thing is we all have oppions, but remember we are dealing with kids here and in Holmes case some of the kids need a little more help than others. When I graduated from Holmes, my oppion one of the best schools I could attend. I learned that we are all different, we are all not rich, but when it came to football we were brothers and we picked each other up. I have rambled long enough. DD

My favorites would be in particular order, Homer Rice, Mike Yeagle, and Tom Ellis Sr. Mr. Ellis would be the most insperational and demanding coach that ever stepped on the field at Holmes High School. He coached basketball, baseball, and Football at the same time I believe. Argue with this if you like, but this man is one the most respected men from Covington and his son Tom Jr speeks at all Holmes Football banquets. Most of you Holmes grads would probably remember him better as "bulldog" they say when he got mad his face resembled a bulldog. Just an Alumni's biased oppion.

I think Dixie pulls out a win in this. I will say by 1-5 point range.

I think Holmes will have to much horses for them to handle, hopefuly this team was brought back down to earth by the Pioneers the other night. I think this years team will gel better than last and Holmes will be 3-1 after this game IMO. After talking to Coach H, he feels this team is much more coheisieve than last year. Thoughts? Predictions?
