Simon Kenton 78 Holmes 74 (OT)

Recommended Posts

Hurd was a load as he dropped in 30 for the Pioneers.

Hill lead Holmes with 35.

Game was tied at the end of regulation at 66...

SK got to the front and held on...Holmes had one real opportunity, down a basket, but missed three shots in one possession.

Hurd was a monster in the first half.

Good win for the Pioneers.

Great game for the Pioneers, and as for Holmes it looked like they came out flat and not ready to play.

They were down by 4 when they missed the lay-ups.

Hurd had 33 on an incredible 15 out of 19 shooting. SK slowed the ball down and worked until they could get the ball into him. Elbert must have had double digit in assists to Hurd. Hester missed a three that could have won in regulation that fell just short. SK finally turned in a performance this season that finally resembled the team people have been expecting. Ditto boost in confidence comment.

Not sure but Hester was somewhere around 15 pts.

After the Hester miss at the end of regulation, Holmes(I think it was Rice) fumbled around with the ball at half court in confusion as to whether there was a foul called and then threw a pass down low to a wide open man but it was too late.

Mike is real disruptive to the guards bringing the ball up the court and I for one think that he has D-1 passing ability . You have to admire a 5' 8' guard who is as ball tough and as saavy as he is. I know Mike isn't going D-1 but I think that he has the ballhandling skills and passing ability, he just unfortunately doesn't have the size.

It's a shame but you are right in that he doesn't have the size to go D-1

And how many predicted a 15-20 point win for Holmes?

I missed out on my chance at saying I thought SK had more of a chance than everyone was saying before hand.

This thread was the first one I looked for on the way home. Getting off the Independence exit on my way home from work I saw a Covington school bus and it didn't look very happy. Rather Somber, so I kinda thought SK might've came away with the W.

Congrats Neers, Good luck moving forward Holmes.
