Hester didn't really have a huge night statistically but it was his control of the game and executing the game plan that was most impressive. His passing ability was impressive. There were several times he penetrated the defense and got the ball to Hurd for the score or Elbert who drew the defense and dropped to Hurd. Defense oh Hurd wasn't bad. He showed a baby hook shot tonight that was quite impressive.

Hester played a very nice floor game.

Hurd was a beast...solid game and the lil jump hook was nice.

 

I thought Rice should have gone stronger at Hurd in the post. He was fading away on his jumpers.

 

Hill was something like 13 of 24 from the field.

Holmes was really effective when they attacked the basket.

 

SK showed why they are the favorites to win the 8th Region.

Interesting result?? Begs the early question, how good is the 10th region?? Scott takes SK to the wall, Mason murders Scott, and then SK beats the 9th's best?? Just an early thought??

Not making excuses for Scott but the SK and Mason County games were on back to back nights last Fri and Sat. Scott spent a ton of energy and emotions in the SK game on Friday. I can't imagine they had a ton of gas left in their tank. Scott will win a lot of games with their defense. It was much more disruptive than Holmes'.

SK didn't play very well against Scott, they didn't look anywhere as crips the other night as they did tonight. Not to take anything away from Scott.

Coach Carr has brought some toughness to the Eagles Nest and they have usually played SK tough no matter the talent disparity.

SK will be tough to beat in the 8th and I would suspect that the 9th will be won by either Holmes or CCH.

Agreed, SK/Scott is a huge rivalry, the talent doesn't always match the score. Scott left everything on the floor Friday night, I'm sure it didn't help to play a great team the very next night. I also do not think that any team getting crushed by Mason County discredits their talent, I think the Royals have proved to be a decent team.

True, but I am willing to say that the winner of the Holmes/CCH district will win the region...that includes a pretty solid HC squad.

Those teams can say what they want, their words would be very tough to back up though, Holmes and CovCath both look strong once again.

The only other team would be Holy Cross.

Region is held at Holmes this year.

Where are the districts for the 35th?

Holmes would have an advantage if they can get to the region.

That is a tough district.

Districts should be at CCH I believe.

Maybe the question is "How good is Mason" instead of "How good is the 10th". Mason also handled SK very easily in a pre-season scrimmage, but I was told that Hester was gimpy in that game.

 

In any event, looks like an entertaining season ahead in the 9th!
