CovCath 69 Scott 53

Featured Replies

CovCath comes back to beat Scott HS (Kenton Co) after not scoring a point for 7:34 in the first quarter, as the Colonels found themselves down by score of 16-2.

The game then changed....

The Colonels came back and came back tough, as Bo and TJ started to find the range and came back to within one as TJ made a basket at the buzzer to end the second quarter with Scott HS leading 27/26. From then on it was all Colonels as CovCath won 69/53 as with a little under two minutes left in the game Coach L emptied his bench..... See the stats below as CovCath made 11 of 19 from behind the 3pt arch. Good victory for the Colonels on the road against a tough team. BTW in the last three quarters CovCath was 11 of 14 from behind the 3pt line...WOW.....

Well put, TJ is the real deal, and he wasn't to be stopped in the second half. Bovard as one of the sweetest shots i have seen. Sharp had an off night, and its is now obvious to me where he goes the eagles go, but the Eagles will have a huge lift for the rest of the year as Baker was declared eligible, and if the get Quigs back in districts i would not want to face the eagles come tourney time. I don't care what any people from covington say, the ninth region is for Cov. Cath's taking.

Nice comeback win for the blue colonels.

Congrats to Cov Cath... I must say they were wicked tonight with the 3 pointers...

Big kudos to Todd Jacobs and Kurt Bovard for their shooting display tonight. I was very impressed with them and the entire CovCath team. Anyone that questions Mike Listerman's coaching style is stupid. He is an excellent coach and so is his son Kevin.

Sharp was double teamed all night and still got 11 points and 8 assists. Danny Miller and Ryne Smith played hard and well especially Smith. Getting Baker eligible is HUGE. They need him badly!!

Sounds like the Colonels were hitting the trey.

Coach Carr has done a nice job holding the Eagles together since Quigley went down.

Eagle Pride is County-wide.

I can't imagine the Eagles have played a better quarter than the first quarter tonight. They ran their offense well. They shot well. They defended well. They may have even gone up 18-2 to start the 2nd qtr. However, the 2nd qtr was all CCH and that essentially was the game.

I hear TMC's coach was going to be on-hand to check out Bo. Nice night for Bo to nail 3s. He and TJ would look good in Saints unis.

I'm going to assume (and hope) those were 10th region officials. Someone needs to alert the bald gentleman that when a shooter goes up for a shot and the defender dislodges the ball and the shooter then catches the ball before he lands that its NOT a walk. Secondly, you cannot let both sides hammer shooters when they drive and then call fouls on the defender running along side the dribbler if contact is made and the dribbler is not dislodged/moved in any way. Be consistent. You would have Noll hammer a kid with no call and then have Bo called TWICE for ticky tack fouls.

No one defends officials on here more than I do. These guys had an off night.

On Scott: Nice team - penetrates well - shoots decently - athletic and plays hard D.

I'm going to need an ID to confirm that #22 is actually of high school age.

They need to handle the ball better. The pressure really hurt them.

Congrats to Cov Cath on the comeback win over a good scott team.

TJ: 16 pts/5 boards/5 assists/5 steals

Bo: 18 pts/6 assists

Combined, 9/13 from 3. Nice night, boys.

Excellent shooting by both of them. I also thought Mike Grimes,Chris Bondick, and Maile played very good games. I was not impressed with Noll or Brown.

I think CCH only missed one three in the second half--Impressive shooting performance!! CovCath's depth too much for the Eagles tonight, and wore Scott down. Sharp in particular has to play a lot of minutes, and gets virtually no rest.

same story different game for the eagles.

If CCH isn't on fire from beyond the arc, does your attitude towards the Listerman family change?

Other than that, a great win for the Colonels. A disappointing 1st quarter, but to come back and win like this (and by that much) tells me enough about this team and their heart. I like it.
