This will be a good game because BOTH teams like to run the ball and are VERY physical. WHo will in and why?

Well DUH! No wonder they didnt post the thread! Sorry everyone!

OK - I have been waiting for Cvillecat or OldRambler to start this thread...but I couldn't stand it anymore! These two teams appear to match up well and this should be one awesome HS Football Game - almost the Game of the Week, IMO! What does everyone think? Can the Rams stop the speed of the Paris running game? Can Paris stop the AIR ATTACK of Raceland?

Rambler - I agree - the poll creators dont often pay too much attention to much past the top 5 of each class and they definitely give more credibility to previous years performance(s) than is truly deserved or warranted. Beechwood will always get more credit because of their awesome history - even with coaching changes - tradition speaks volumes to the pollsters - I guess.

LCA beat RACELAND head-to-head and Raceland is still ranked higher... It has to do with QUALITY OF WINS & LOSSES - so the teams you beat and that beat you and their records have as much impact - I guess... But these polls are just someone's opinion and are certainly meaningless when it comes to Friday nights and the playoffs - it gives all of us things to discuss!

OldRambler - AMEN to that! Very nice to see our DISTRICT making some noise early in the season - unfortunately, this year is setup where ONLY one of us makes it to the REGIONAL Championship because I think we would have had two from our district in the Reg Finals this year if they hadn't changed the format.

or maybe I should call us "Keyboard Quarterbacks"!!!

BTB, Thanks for the details on the kids - again, we are VERY glad nothing serious hurt... The NEW District Playoffs will give all of us "arm-chair" coaches more to talk about wont it! It will be interesting to see how teams play each other the 2nd time around...that is when the Coaching and the talent really get tested, huh?! This is really looking like an interesting year for our District and I really hope our District representative, whoever that may be, gets out of the REGION this year!

BC Cat - great news about your kids being healthy! Good luck this week with Paris - it sounds like they are the team to beat within the DIstrict right now...they are Senior-loaded and have their Offense clicking right now - and they are FAST!

Hey BC CAT, Is #42 okay? I dont think I saw him back in the game after he was hurt... Aslo, I assume #3 will be good to go this week against Paris? Thanks and we will pray fro healing for those kids.

BTB It HAS changed this year...the TOP 4 teams in our DISTRICT play for the DISTRICT TITLE in a 4-team seeded (by District records) playoff which then feeds into the REGIONAL TITLE game. So, #1 plays #4 & #2 plays #3 - with the winners advancing to the DISTRICT TITLE game and then that winner goes to the Regional Title game.

By the way...one other HUGE difference maker in this game was LCA's kicking game by #66 Kevin Minnick - he had 6 punts for an average of 46 yds/punt with several inside the 20(1 inside the 5) as well as Kickoffs that were either touchbacks or dropped inside the 15 and the coverage team held them down inside the 30 most times. This kid was a WEAPON for LCA last night.

Big Time Blue is correct. LCA line on both sides of the ball was the difference in this game...they controlled the LOS and gave the backs a chance to make things happen. Barnett#18 ran very well also.

cv - I think before Domonique Hayden is done with his HS career, we will ALL forget about his brother Tyrell's achievements! This kid is very special. By the way, Tyrell Hayden is at WKU and is now on FULL Scholarship and is the #2 RB there - he actually had 7 carries for 84 yards last week against UT-Chattanooga! He is the real deal!

Cvillecat! You need to keep your phone on during the games! I tried calling you several times to check on you guys tonite... I even texted you!

Congrats Raceland Rams! You now have two weeks to prepare for Bath County - a MUCH improved team from years past! #3 is a real hard-nosed kid - played injured for half the game tonite agianst LCA, but stayed out there and kept on playing. They have a nice ballclub and should be a good matchup for the Rams in two weeks.

LCA defense steps it up again! Hayden (freshmen) had 17 carries for 99 yds & 3 TDs!

Paris over Fairview 28-14

ditto that...NO.

My son blew out his ACL on May 28th last year (his Senior Year) had surgery on June 7th and worked his tail off to come back and got to play in the 5th gane of the season and for a total of 9 games (Regional Finals)... There were MANY people praying for his recovery and you can see the POWER OF PRAYER through these type of results! Hang in there Jacob and keep your FAITH in Jesus!

Sounds like two things going on there at Raceland: 1. Coach Vanderhoof has the boys "well-grounded" to the importance of TEAM. 2. The kids trust and believe in their coaches and have great leadership within. I think the Raceland program is a CLASS ACT and they will go deep in the Play-offs - hopefully meeting LCA in the Regional Championship for a re-match! :thumb:

I agree with HitStick...WC hasnt played anyone except EJHS with a winning record... Lafayette 28 WC - 17

Actually I hope it is true...that Polls are meaningless...that is. LCA ranked 17th and Bath is 10th...Bath should be favored then.
