LCA vs. Bath: Predictions/Hopes

Featured Replies

This looks like a much better matchup than anyone would have thought before the season began. Agree/Disagree?

People around the program really had a good feeling about this Bath County team before the season. Coach Reed Fields has put a lot of work into the program. The kids worked hard in the off season keeping in shape. Now that hard work looks like it is paying off. 4 and 0 for the first time in nearly a decade.

I think Wayne Stevens has a big night on the ground and I think Bath Co. has the speed in the secondary to contain the passing game of LCA.

Bath Co. 20

LCA 14

At this point I think the district is wide-open this year.

Bath Co. 14

I am posting this for information ONLY - no judgements:

Bath Co. vs Opponents:

W.Carter (3-2) (2A) 35-25 Won

Lewis Co (0-5) (2A) 21-0 Won

Morgan CO (0-4) (2A) 32-18 Won

Fairview (2-3) (1A) 26-0 Won

114-43 outscored opponents

Opponents records equal 5-14

LCA vs. opponents:

Mercer Co. (5-0) (2A) 0-63 Lost

DeSales (1-3) (2A) 28-10 Won

CAL (1-3) (2A) 21-0 Won

Corbin (1-4) (2A) 7-20 Lost

Raceland (4-1) (1A) 21-10 Won

77-103 outscored by Opponents

Opponents records equal 11-11

Food for thought - if meaningful - probably not...

LCA 35 Bath 6

Anyone team that can hold Raceland to less that 100 yards is pretty good defensively.

Those stats lead you to believe that Lexington Christian will beat Bath County. While Bath's opponents do have a weak combined record, it also shows that the Wildcats handled all four teams. I think LCA will win, but Bath should put up a good fight.

GC - I thought last week, based upon similar data, that Fairview would beat Bath - but THAT didnt happen!

So, I kind of posted those stats more of a "for what its worth" statement...

I should also point out that Bath Co is 4-0 while LCA is 3-2 so farthis season.

This should be a very hard-fought battle and it may come down to which team has the depth and stamina for the 4th quarter. I look forward to watching this one!

Is LCA throwing the ball as much this year as last? I know they started off slow (losing to Mercer-who hasn't?!), but it seems like they are playing better. If they line up and try to pound it with Bath, the Wildcats could pull the win.

Also, Eagle Eye, like you said about last week's Bath-Fairview game, its really hard to compare scores to pick out a winner. Even still, give me LCA in a tight one.

LCA is throwing MORE this season...went to the Tony Franklin style offense...

probably 25-35 passes/game...

I also thought Raceland would beat LCA by 2-3 TD's - just goes to show what I know! :p

I will pick LCA by a couple of td's althoiugh I am pulling for Bath in this one, after last week we (Raceland) could use the help in the district from the Wildcats:D .......untill our trip to Owingsville a little later.:D

Old Rambler!

Well...at least you are STILL a BUCKEYE fan! :p

LCA 34-28.

Got to go with LCA on this one. I haven't seen Bath Co. yet this year, but from their opponents so far I say LCA by 2 TD's

LCA 28

Bath 14

Bath Co. will give LCA some trouble but i think its safe to say that LCA wins in this one. They impressed me with their win over Raceland, and it seems like this team is peaking just at the right time.

LCA 24

Bath 7

Bath County is a much improved .However, they will have to play a mistake free football game to get past LCA and play ball control offense. I think the defense of LCA is to much for Bath to overcome. Another key will be can the young QB of LCA have two great games in a row? It will be tough for him to duplicate last weeks performance. I still say LCA.

LCA 38

Bath 16
