Berea vs. Raceland

Featured Replies

This one should be big win for the Rams but you never know. I hope that Raceland can get their offense straighted out and come back from a tough loss very strong.

I believe that this is homecoming week at Raceland. Rams, lets not let all the festivities and distractions cloud your focus on this game. Raceland cannot afford another district loss to anyone. "Fear no opponet but Respect all opponets".

The Rams win this one easy.

This is a game that the Rams should win but as Oldrambler said anything can happen. I am sure the kids will start Monday with a positive attitude and I know the coaches will see to it that the focus and work ethic that they have become accustomed to is there. Raceland will need this win to regain their confidence and stay in the hunt for the district race.

Rams 48

Berea 6

Also a reminder::::: This game has an 8:00 start instead of the normal 7:30

Sounds about right. The Ram's have got to win out the rest of the season for any distict hopes, so no game can be taken lightly. They need to get refocused and get some momentum going and finish strong.

Coach Vanderhoof will rarely put more than 50 points on the board against any opponent, and never goes for a shutout.

Rams 48

Berea 7

It was a tough Raceland loss last Friday night against a phenomenal LC performance. The collective character of the Ram team and their coaching staff will get them back on their winning course for this week’s contest against Berea.

Raceland, IMO, is still on track for an outstanding season and (barring injury) will run deep in the playoffs.

I should have wrote after the game but i had to go home and put some ora gel on my tongue to numb it. I am afraid some of us could not watch the game due to a couple of men in the stands. We are suppose to support our Rams in good and bad. I will admit that it did cross my mind who was calling the same plays or did they not know that Beach was covered.Use our other receivers but that is not for me to question. I was sitting on the other side of some Raceland senior moms and could plainly hear and see what was going on. This man would get on his phone(speaker on) and bash the team every play. I am asking all parents, grandparent, former coaches, etc. if you attend the homecoming game please control your actions for these kids. The Raceland family is better than that. That off my chest, we are wishing the Rams a big homcoming victory.

Lets keep our spirits high and not let down on those boys. My last post was just an example of how something can get out of hand. Being around ball all my life there will always be people that have to find the negative in every situation. We expect our kids to keep their heads up and try harder next time. Lets show the example. Practice what we preach. The players and coaches need us.

Oldram, do you have any info on the JV game for this week such as where and time?

We also know the one fan you are referring to. ;) & this is not the typical Ram fan as I am sure you are aware.

It’s difficult to sit idly by while witnessing something like you described oldram. Unfortunately, you find these “fans” in every sport and even around junior league athletics. I’m always amazed when I observe it too but have learned that you can’t argue with ignorant people….they drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

:thumb: Well said Painter. While I am sure we are all guilty of being critical (myself included) some take it to another level and it reaches the point of becoming a major problem for the program.

The sad part of this is that the fan mentioned has a son playing and you can only imagine what he has to listen to.

JV game will be at Coal Grove starting at 6:00. I did find out later from some of the ones you know i am close to, who they were and that this was this usual. They agree with everything you said. The boys are ready to play and get back on track. On Friday and Saturday some had made theirselves physical sick. I think they thought it all had ended. Thats why i want everyone behind them and to encourage them to stand tall.

Thanks for the info on the JV game, I'll see you there.

It is always tough on the kids who have worked so hard all week and come away with a loss. A good week of practice and the memory of how it feels to lose should be a great motivator for this week.

I have a request for all the Ram fans!!!! All this week when you see a player, shake his hand and tell him how much you appreciate what they do for our school and community & tell them you support them 100 %.:thumb:

Never forget that although they look like men on the field they're still kids. You don't know just how hard it is on these boys unless you've been down there at the field house after a loss like Fridays. As for the rude fans. I've heard them many times and had to bite my tongue and put my hands in my pockets. Remember these kids are giving it they're all out there and if mistakes are made it's not on purpose. Give them ALL your support.

GO RAMS.
