Berea vs. Raceland

Featured Replies

I felt Raceland could have made some adjustments and made a better showing. They seemed to stick with the same plays even though it wasn't working.

:thumb: Nice observation greatestfan. they kind of got away from the game plan and never recovered. The series from the 1st & goal was the dagger in the back. A TD there & things may have been different. We jsut never recovered after that.

Havent they had several Coaching changes over the recent years as well?

That makes it difficult to get continuity/consistency with the kids - thus the number of players coming is reflected...

I hope Berea kids stick it out - because they HAVE to love the game under these conditions.

I think they have had a coaching change 3 of the last 4 years. As you said it makes it tough to have consistency and allow the kids to learn a system. Not many wins is probably the reason for the low numbers. For the kids sake I hope they right the ship.

Very Well Said OldRambler.

Let's just hope the Rams come out ready to play this Friday.

Let's use all of our weapons, several receivers and several running backs

and let's get a big WIN in RAMLAND!!

Absolutely

Everyone needs to come out and support the Rams. I have been told that they will be doing their traditional Turkey Bowl. A bonfire might be in the works and decorating the streets on Thursday. All fans young or old is invited. Lets show these fine young men all is not lost. We are right behind them. All fans are invited to tailgate with the touchdown club. Make homecoming a special night for all. GO Rams!

Why is Berea so bad?

Let's remember that a great majority of the boys read our quotes. The main thing to remember on any given night a team can be great. The Rams need to want this win. They need to stay focused and not get the big head thinking any team is an easy win. It seems our team may have a case of I will prove you wrong. Reverse pyschology may be the key. I am going to go with the Rams losing just so they can get mad and prove us all wrong.

You are exactly right oldram!!! They need to regain that hunger and keep that feeling of not winning in their gut all week as a reminder to work harder. Just as last week, Friday begins a new season. If they do not come in focused anything can happen. This week will be a test of the heart and if I am correct about the character of these kids ,we as fans will see a great effort on Homecoming night!!!!:thumb:

Why is Berea so bad?

Lack of students, lack of interest from administration.

Berea was actual a pretty good team in 99 and 2000. I know they made the playoffs two consectutive years and won 7 or 8 games. That was with Coach Aaron Stepp who really turned the program around and then left for Clay County. Since then, they have had two coaches, Todd Harris (former Madison Central and Boyle assistant) and Warren Mills who have won maybe 5 games in 5 years. A lot of Berea's athletes either go to Madison Southern or play soccer. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see Berea do away with football in the next couple of years.

I would hate to see them lose their football program. They have had some very talented athletes in the past.

I would hate that also. Next year under the new alignment they will move to a different district. This may be the last time we get to play each other, except maybe a playoff game.

:thumb: :thumb: On regaining the hunger and staying focused. Ram players, there is no room for error from here on out if you want a home playoff game (or more). Fear no one but Respect all.

Just to let you know Berea was down 40 points at half time to the second worst team in the district, I really don't think Raceland will have much trouble unless, well, I can't think of anything.

Thanks for the info but you still have to show up and be ready to play. If you overlook any team you are setting yourself up for a loss. It has been said many times before that any team can beat you on any given night. So as Oldrambler said, fear no one but respect all!!!
