I'm looking forward to the Austin Collinsworth v. Pat Van Sant match up. If PVS truly is a POY candidate, this will need to be his "step up" game. Other interesting matchups will be HHS D-line v. the "mighty" CCH O-line. We'll see if the CCH O-line is "all that and a bag chips"! I don't see a blow out in this one...CCH has nothing to lose.

Heard Crawford was a "precautionary" hold out of the game...won't need Conner, no need to rush him back. Ollie Head gave me a FTJFL "flashback" tonite....What a talent to be so deep on the depth chart! Love the play at safety, too! Austin C was just "sick wit da' ball" tonite! Game was as expected...CovCath WEEK !!!

I seem to remember a 42-0 (or close to that) butt whipping that Dixie put on HHS in the 70's. But that is classified as "ancient history"! Twin RB's just kicked our tail feathers!!

Sometimes a "seasoned" offensive lineman is much better than an "unseasoned" skills player in critical situations. And there ARE linemen that have quite good hands out there!

Most were out shortly after 3rd quarter began. Maybe 2 drives. No more than 1/2 the third quarter.

After the "fake FG fiasco" against NCC maybe the sidelines needed a little help. (LOLOLOLOLOLOL)

While we are "somewhat" on the topic. I heard that the KHSAA is going to enforce some type of ban on the gloves that kids are wearing. Too sticky or something...anyone have "official" word on this?

NCC took a BIG hit last week losing a tough lineman to a shoulder injury. They just can't afford to have top players out!

CovCath had some very nice plays on O & D tonite. Birds seemed to pick it up when they needed to. True "Blue" is a beast. On that 70+ screen he scored on, there was no blocking...he ran over and through alot of tired CC tacklers (much like NCC's the week before.) ...I lied, there was one very nice peel back block close to the goal line. Second game of frosh year...secondary looks like a young frosh secondary typically looks...iffy! #6 got caught "in-between" and on the wrong shoulder. Very correctable! I dare say he'll see film, get instruction, and won't make that same mistake again. (BTW, that was a VERY nice "pitch and catch" by the CC duo!) Big #41 at safety is rangy and has nice hands! He's got to keep in mind that he is "last man"! DGBD!!!!!!(Don't Get Beat Deep). I like a tall safety! O-Line got better, but needs more consistency (typical frosh). They have to have the desire to dominate EVERY play...not just when the ball is coming over them! QB is now called "Cardiac" New after leading 2 come from behind victories over big time competition! (You're going to give Grandpa Shields a stroke! LOL!!) A great freshman contest that could have gone either way...check back in 3 years!!

Do you think the Diocese would ever scrap Brossart/NCC and build one LARGE Catholic H.S. somewhere between the county and the city? It could lead to some competition for St.X and T!
