Wow, sorry I missed this game. I am in Toledo, nothing like NKY I'll tell you that!!! Good job Birds way to put it away finally. I heard that there was sort of a comeback at the end but those updates were from the wife, not sure if there were 2's and 3's in at this point. Can anyone give a good synopsis of the game?

1's against 1's HHS did what ever they wanted...Crawford didn't even play tonight..Dixie scored all of their points on the JV...

The Dixie scores were against the second and third teams. Heard that some feshmen got in there tonight as well.

I think we had 468 yards in the fist half, with 308 coming through the air. Awsome job by Guidugli, Head, Fennell, Collinsworth, and many more!

Hey, did that catch by Collinsworth give anyone else a flashback to some tall, lanky guy in 1981? ;)

Don't let the score fool you. Highlands could have scored 60 in the 1st half if Dale had kept it on the ground instead of working on the passing game. Dixie did not cross midfield on the Birds 1st team defense and only held the 1st team offense 1 time without them scoring.

It is an overused term to say a team could name the score, but Highlands could have done so with the 1st team against Dixie.

And in case he cruises BGP, no Coach S. , scoring 4 td's against 2nd and 3rd teamers does not make the game appear competitive.

That could of been the best catch I have seen in a high school game ever...:ylsuper:

Highlands was without a doubt 6 tds better than Dixie tonight and any other night. Tyler Fennell ran the ball hard tonight. It would be kind of scary if Conner and Crawford would of been healthy and playing. I got my money's worth tonight watching the circus on the sidelines once again!!!!!

Did Crawford get hurt in the game? Any word about whether he and/or Conner will be ready for next week against CCH? HHS will struggle next week if their two starting RBs are out!!!!!:scared:

Why would you say that? Fennell and Head did great! I think Alford got a few touches and gained yardage. Passing game looked good, with a lot more down field attempts than previous, with quite a bit of success.

It was good to see Will Bardo get to throw the ball in the second half, other than just handing it off as he did in the Holmes game.

All in all, a very good effort.

Heard Crawford was a "precautionary" hold out of the game...won't need Conner, no need to rush him back. Ollie Head gave me a FTJFL "flashback" tonite....What a talent to be so deep on the depth chart! Love the play at safety, too! Austin C was just "sick wit da' ball" tonite! Game was as expected...CovCath WEEK !!!

I say that because NO team (including Highlands) would ever want to face their arch nemesis without their TWO leading running backs!!!!!!! Am I way off base here or something?!?!?!?!

Geez... it's CovCath guys... CovCath!!!!

OK, so no team wants to face their arch nemesis without their two leading backs, but let's give some credit to the guys who stepped in and took care of business. Is there any reason to believe they wouldn't do the same next week? Also, the O line did a great job run blocking, and gave Tony G. all the time he needed to throw on passing plays.

The sky is not falling, and there are at least 4 (possibly 5 - 6) backs who stand ready to run behind a solid line that is coming together nicely. Yes, it is Cov Cath week, and I believe a note of guarded optimism is in order.

Lastly, our defense was strong again. Dixie's QB took several good hits, and continued to get back up and back to the huddle. The D game plan was right on, and as has been noted earlier in this thread, DH did not cross the 50 until after the final outcome had been decided.

Highlands 3rd and 4th backs are that good.
