I saw this last year and from what I can tell more teams are going to this new Yellow type (tinted)colored football. I believe it's a Rawlings ST5. I know after all the years around football the different tinted color sure looks funny to me. I'm sure there is a good reason?

Haven't seen them used.

They are unique looking. I love the ST5.

We have one at Raceland but it never makes it to the field. It looks like it has the flu or atleast belongs in the CFL!:lol:

They were used in both the Pike County Bowl and Cumberland Falls Pigskin Classic, I think by all teams. Not sure if each team provides their own footballs in these bowl games or if they are supplied by the bowls??

Maybe they were dropped in the litkenhaus before they were used.:walk:

I think they are seen better during the night. I saw one team that had two big reflector strips on the side of the football. Possibly Dunbar?

If not mistaken the HAVE To be used in the post season. I hate the color.

They were made that color to help receivers see the ball better at night. Thats what one of the sport stores told me a while back.

I beleive Ryle uses the yellow tinted balls. Yes Rawling balls HAVE to be used in post season.

There is no reason for these to be this color, they are awful and IMO the Rawlings Corporation is doing what so many others are in business and that is to cut the product while increasing thier profit margin. The ball is cheaper in material IMO and feels much more like plastic than pigskin. These balls have to be used in the post season now because Rawlings is the official sponsor of the KHSAA. At one time they just had to be used during the State Championship game, last year several officials made it clear that they had to be used in all rounds of the playoffs. This color is the only color avaiable by Rawlings also, which is a joke IMO.

I miss the Wilson 1001. True leather and real seams, not plastic.

Woodford County has them and we hate them most of the white strip is peeling off of them too.
