Simon Kenton at Scott Predictions
It is so entertaining how everyone plays the telephone game on here. Actually SK's coach told his players that they need to fumble every play to allow the Fighting Eagles to win. Oh wait, that sound just as ignorant as saying to keep it close. " From what my source says..... (haha)," the coach said have class and dont talk trash, and allow your playing to do the talking. Which, if im not mistakin, seems to be a "classy" way of saying lets blow out your so called rival...that happens to be scared to play ya apparently with the big drop from the schedule. I have seen coaches scream and say lets go kill them and and not mention having class before, not really getting across one of the true points in coaching which is to prepare these guys for life. But then again, that was on Saturday mornings getting ready for PeeWee games. If you are on here and truely believe that a coach telling his players to have class is wrong, then you need the big guy to give your money back for this site and then apologize for ever typing a word on it.

Scott and Simon Kenton's last time to play each other.
You are one of many.

Scott and Simon Kenton's last time to play each other.
The reason that Simon and Scott are not playing each other anymore is because Scott dropped them from their schedule. From what I heard, Simon had planned on playing them and was shocked by Scott saying no way. Russel was added to the schedule as a result of this, which will be a nice trip for the Pioneers and Russell will be a good game for both teams to get ready for the playoffs. Personally, I hate that these two aren't playing. However, Scott is doing this because they are losing so many kids out of the program due to open enrollment. They need to totally rebuild, and sadly the future isn't bright. Scott's staff knows that getting their brains beat in by Simon Kenton, who's future looks bright, is not a bump in the road that they need in this rebuilding process. Don't worry though...i'm sure that this cross county match will resume some time in the future.

Dixie 18 Campbell Cty 17
I am amazed at the support that Campbell County fans have for the coaches in this situation. Everyone seems to support the call to go for the win rather than the tie, and the choice of playcalling when they did decide to go for it. I just wish other schools had this same confidence in their coaches. I've seen several schools that I cannot say the same about.

Simon Kenton 43 Conner 7
Yes, new QB and new backfield, as well as a big blow to the O line.

Freshmen Championship: Highlands vs Conner
Congrats to both teams in making the championship. I think Conner has a good chance at taking this one. They are very talented and have a good coaching staff!:thumb:

It's also hard to keep momentum when you can't tackle.

SK vs. Conner Predictions
Did the previous comments convince you to go down on your guess by 5?

Who will get to #17 first???
Highlands, because they don't have as good of a chance at losing to someone deep in the playoffs. Trinity is going to have their hands full with Male or St. X in the playoffs.

Simon Kenton vs. Ryle
It seems to me like he does run the D. The coaches can't go out and play the game for the kids. It looks different because different adjustments have to be made for different things, the changes are what you call "good coaching." The coaches can put the players there but they can't make the plays for them.

Simon Kenton vs. Ryle
Why would that be exactly, he ran it from 2000 and 2004 and had great success? They went 5-0 in 2000 giving up about 28 points in those 5 games and shut out powerhouse boone co. and only gave up about 50 points to all the 4a schools in 2001.

What does Scott need to do to turn things around?
Not that I know of for sure but it seems like the most logical thing to do. They have tried several coaching changes in the past and none of them seem to work. I think the problem is a lot deeper than the coaching style, it is getting into kids simply not wanting to have anything to do with the program.

What does Scott need to do to turn things around?
Feeder programs is Scott's main problem. Woodland gives a decent amount of kids to field a team, but there needs to be more than one feeder program to have a continually successful team. They have other programs they get kids from but they're lucky to get two or three kids from each. Summit View drew a large crowd in the past that made its way to Dixie and in recent years has shifted toward Simon Kenton. Most of that shift has to do with the location of the kids and friendships that the kids have. If given the choice, they are going to go where their friends are going to go or where one of their friends has to go. Im sure there is a lot of other things that have played in the decisions in the past and will in the future like the new field for Dixie that are going to keep kids from Summit View away from Scott. Also the South Kenton program doesnt help either. The kids around Scotts district that could go there are pulled away towards Simon Kenton through that youth league. IMO the best thing they can do is cancel their program for a few years. Try to start a strong youth program outside of Woodland, and let that filter into a new and improved football program. That wouldn't really be fair to the underclassmen but the more important issue is in 5 years are there even going to have enough kids to field a team?

Boyle football parents meet with superintendent, principal
This is the problem with high school sports. Too many times I hear "they're not doing good so lets fire the whole staff!" It's really absurd and the worst part about it is they are letting the parents decide what to do, probably the majority of which have no understanding of what it takes to run a successful program. Now if the meeting is just to reassure the parents that times are rough and they are working through them is one thing, but a town hall to oust the coaching staff is embarrassing for the principle, superintendent, and the parents. Have some faith in your coaching staff and players that they can make a positive out of this season and work to make the wrongs rights. Simply firing your staff because you go 1-5 is not the answer to your probems. Parents tell their children to never give up and strive for their children to rise up when their back is against the wall, then they turn around and criticize someone else for trying to do the very same thing. Everyone involved in this meeting should be ashamed of themselves.

Simon Kenton at Holmes predictions
If every team in high school college and the nfl could throw a little more passes accuratly and catch more important passes every team could score 40 points. Simon Kenton has more speed now than they have had in a few years, with the talent to go with it.

Northern Kentucky Freshmen Standings
The injured player for the Pioneers was strong side linebacker and fullback Nick Brown. He popped his shoulder out of place, but it seems that he will be okay and possibly even play next week. Brown getting hurt really hurt the Pioneers on defense, especially with the fact that their backup linebacker broke his arm last week at practice. They simply ran out of people and had to move people around to different positions towards the end. But don't worry, if Highlands beats Dixie and SK beats Conner, we will see these two again in the championship.

Top Freshmen QBs
The Bardo kid from Highlands is a pretty good player with a good arm, once his vision opens up he'll be an outstanding player. Also the kid from Dixie (name?) is a great quarterback as well. He throws a very nice ball and is on the money with all his throws.

Northern Kentucky Freshmen Standings
It very well might be SK and Highlands for the title in frosh, reason being that the best team out of each division play each other in the championship. The divisions are set by the same standards as the East/West all-star guidelines, so you have: West: Conner, Boone, Ryle, SK, and Scott East: Dixie, HHS, CCH, Campbell, and Holmes Thus, a team can lose to everyone on the other side and and have a 4-5 record, and still play in the championship the last week. So, the way it is looking as of now, the Ryle / SK game could determine who could play HHS in the finals...unless Dixie or Campbell takes care of buisness!

Dixie vs CovCath freshmen
Actually, the score was SK 41 CCH 7....the score at half time was 35 to 0, so it could have been worse, strong showing by the pioneers.

Highlands Freshmen
Ha, sounds like it. The reason I asked was when I watched the big game at Paul Brown before (last few years) I didn't care for the jet motion attack. Im a fan of the spread look. They killed people with it. The question was more about seeing if the freshmen coaches stick to the varsity offense year to year as it changes. So many jv and freshmen teams drift away from varsity plays and formations. Now I know that with the level of difficulty and lack of some guys at key spots, its not always possible to match the play calls. However, this shouldn"t be the case over there. So overall, it was a question about the simularities between the varsity, jv and freshmen running the same stuff to get ready for the next level.

Highlands Freshmen
- Highlands Freshmen
I understand that Highlands varsity has went away from their jet-motion based offense from the previous few years and are back to running the split back look, ala days of Frisk and company. Has the freshmen also went back to this offense? I imagine they have, but just havent had the oppertunity to see the young Birds in action. If so, where are their studs lining up at back there? Is there a lot of gun or is the QB under center? - Highlands Freshmen
