Why; would Scott not play Simon kenton next year.

Because Simon Kenton picked up Russell. Who would you rather have on your schedule top notch comp or just mediocar?

True, but Simon kenton wanted to play Scott it has always been a good rival.

I would stick with the natural rival. When you are talking about neighboring schools, the competition factor normally increases. Plus, in some cases (depending on the opponent) the gate $$ is greater with the local team.

Apparently Simon Kenton must have felt they needed some tougher compitition to get them ready for the playoffs so you really can't blame them for taking this match up with Russell.

I dont blame sk. It was scott that droped sk.

The reason that Simon and Scott are not playing each other anymore is because Scott dropped them from their schedule. From what I heard, Simon had planned on playing them and was shocked by Scott saying no way. Russel was added to the schedule as a result of this, which will be a nice trip for the Pioneers and Russell will be a good game for both teams to get ready for the playoffs.

Personally, I hate that these two aren't playing. However, Scott is doing this because they are losing so many kids out of the program due to open enrollment. They need to totally rebuild, and sadly the future isn't bright. Scott's staff knows that getting their brains beat in by Simon Kenton, who's future looks bright, is not a bump in the road that they need in this rebuilding process. Don't worry though...i'm sure that this cross county match will resume some time in the future.

It has always been a great crosstown rival. I hate to see it go.

You are one of many.

It has alot to do with open enrollment.(sure) I agree, but Scott is charging a football fee of 300.00 to play at Scott. I think is a joke. That is not helping to keep kids there.

You're saying that at Scott it costs a family $300.00 for their child to play football?

That rival seems like it was the only thing keeping Scott football alive. the kids loved It. most know each other and are friends.

Yes in deed.

Just this person's opinion, but that's insane to me. Why would a family have to pay that much to play football?
