Holmes, Highlands, and Newport seems to have the better athletes, but you have to give the edge to the Bluebirds, they have the better coaching and the more controled players.

It is, if you make it. You just don't get home court advantage, you have to realize and take it. Let's see, no bus ride, you have your own locker and lockerroom, the court and rims that you have played on the most, and the fans or the sixth man!!! Now that would have to make a little difference!

Look for Newport to take advantage of playing on their home court. It's payback time for Beechwood and then Holy Cross. In the top bracket, look for the Thoroughbreds to get hot!! But not Hot enough to beat the Wildcats in the Championship!!!

It takes me 35 minutes to get to the South Fork of the Licking, one of the best fishing holes around (Don' tell anyone). I can tell you couple things impressive about PC, I attented a High School Basketball game at Pendleton High a few weeks ago. They really have a nice program, I really enjoyed the Band, The Student Body Section was wonderful and classy, and the Popcorn was fantastic!!! Keep the good work up and Good Luck in the State Tournament and bring us one Back!!!!

I think the Head Director has made a mistake. After looking at all the comments, facts, and the Map, I guess we should let them in. If Campbell is in, we should let Pendleton in too!!!

I can't believe that anyone would even consider PC as a N.Ky. team. There not even close to being in N.Ky. They are not in Campbell which really covers a pretty good territory, Boone, or Kenton either. IMO if your not in these counties you should not even to be considered an Northern Ky. Team!!!!

This looks like this could be a big game, "For the all of Sudden, Dynasty" of the Beechwood Tigers. Its set up great, Beechwood the top Offense of team in the 9th Region averaging 68.4, Coach Henley keeps saying his team does'nt play good defense, well they play it tonight, or I believe the Bulldogs will suffer thier first lost in the 9th. How come Pendleton only had four players score in the Brossart game?? At least, that's what the box scores stated in the Enquirer???

Newport 7th Grade Team, having an outstanding season 13-2 both losts coming against Campbell County. Some of the players are Travis Jones, Jordan Jasper, and Shawn Klauss. They match-up for the "Battle of the Licking", Friday night 1/20 at the Cat's Den, at 5:30. (Good Luck Both Teams and Keep up the good work!!!)

Looks like the Newport Middle School Team had a little revenge Tuesday night at the Cat's Den. The Wildcats beat the Highlands Bluebirds one of the top Middle School teams in N.Ky. It was a great game 52-49, Arkansas Brewer had 28 and Brandon Tucker had 19 for the Cats, an amazing stat between these 2 athletes was they made 13 straight freethrows in a row, for the win! Some of the players for the Bluebirds was Zach Lother, Austin Collingsworth, George Grote and Sharp Shooter Steve Kowolonek (5 three pointers). Good Luck both teams the rest of the season!!!

Well said Z5, That's exactly what I'm talking about. No one would expect Newport to go down to PC and pull the upset off. I know PC and their coaching staff are overlooking Newport, and the Wildcats from up North are ready to win the Cat fight!!!

After Newport goes down to Pendleton County and pulls off the upset, everyone will start giving the Newport Wildcats some respect. Of course, you have to earn it, to get it! It started the other night when they beat the Breds!!!

PC really has a great team and Coach, But the way things are going throughout the State look for the upset!! Newport has some great athletes, and shooters, and if they get HOT watchout!!! (Look for the Wildcats to win, HA, HA, just kidding.)

I seen Scott Draud score 46 points one night, (Of course before the 3 point line.) But over half of his shots made, were 20 footers or so!!!

You just can overlook any team in the great Bluegrass State!!!

I do remember a Hoopster that played for Newport Wildcats back in the 1970's, he was by far one of the better players I had ever seen play. Steve Fields
