I had heard that the "ARK" was playing AAU for the Louisville Derby City Ballers, they won state last year and did well Nationally!!!

I went to watch the Wildcats, and Arkansas Brewer play tonight, and it sure was amazing to see this youngman play. Newport beat a sound Panther team 61-24, "ARK" had 23 pts(3 for 3, 3 pointers), 11 rebounds,5 asssist, and 5 steals. He so good people and fans are starting to come just to watch him play, there were actually scouts there, someone had stated that he might go to Louisville Trinity, but in reality I think he will be a Wildcat.

Newport's Freshman play Ludlow at 6:30 at Newport high School Wenesday night.

Anyone seen much Freshman Basketball this season? Well if you want to see probably the best player in the 9th Region, go watch the Newport Wildcats 6'1'' 185lb. 8th grader, Arkansas Brewer. He is really an outstanding athlete, he plays Guard/Forward, "ARK" as his peers call him, can shoot the three pointer like its a normal jump shot, plus post up and drive and dribble with the best of them. He's averaging 19 pts,9 rebounds,5 assist a game, he is really talented and is super youngman, on and off the Basketball court. Brewer plays AAU for the Louisville Yellow Jackets and is ranked one of the top 25 8th graders in the state of Kentucky. (Good Luck "ARK", and keep the good work up!!!)

Congradulations to Devin Bach, he is the first conference champion that the Newport Wildcats have seen in a while. Back in the 70's the Wildcats use to have a competative wrestling program, and now they're back! Devin won the NKAC in the Heavyweight weight class, the first Conference champion since 1978. (Great Job!! Devin, Mr. Middleton, and the rest of the Newport Wildcats wrestlers, keep on working hard. :thumb:

With the players they have returning, the big game exposure, and the coaching, they would have to be favorites to repeat!!!

6'7" Junior- Phillip "Big Phil" Hibbard, adds a little more size and depth to the defending state champs. Does anyone know who the freshman transfer is and where he came from??
