Anyone seen much Freshman Basketball this season? Well if you want to see probably the best player in the 9th Region, go watch the Newport Wildcats 6'1'' 185lb. 8th grader, Arkansas Brewer. He is really an outstanding athlete, he plays Guard/Forward, "ARK" as his peers call him, can shoot the three pointer like its a normal jump shot, plus post up and drive and dribble with the best of them. He's averaging 19 pts,9 rebounds,5 assist a game, he is really talented and is super youngman, on and off the Basketball court. Brewer plays AAU for the Louisville Yellow Jackets and is ranked one of the top 25 8th graders in the state of Kentucky. (Good Luck "ARK", and keep the good work up!!!)

Sounds like a pretty nice ballplayer. Where is he headed to next year? I'm sure the usual cast of characters are courting this young man.

 And so it continues................

BZ - your consistency is impressive.

I have not watched the young man but have heard nothing but positives.

Is he good enough to play varsity right now? His size makes me think he would be.

Arkansas has played in a league and a few tournaments for me and I can say he has always treated our coaches and players with respect. He is an outstanding athlete. He is much more physically mature than any 8th grader that I have seen. Very good kid and player.

:thumb: And brutally honest.

If by honest you mean completly false then your on the money.

I'm guessing if anybody influences him its whoever he plays AAU ball with. But since he plays for a Louisville team I think Newport is safe.

I think he will play for Newport as well. I heard something about he may be adopted by someone and move somewhere down in the state (cant remember the name of city or school) and go to school and play down there. But that is just rumor as far as i know.

:D I always know I'm hitting the mark when it draws you out so quickly. Your constant denial in this area is what keeps me going and laughing.

Schools need to learn not to make to many public comments about their 8th graders. The vultures are hovering above.

So bigstud will you be at the HC/Dixie game? I'm thinking about attending. I think your guys win this one this evening.

 Oh my god. His name is not bigstud and he lives in a place called the "HC Community". ;):D

I went to watch the Wildcats, and Arkansas Brewer play tonight, and it sure was amazing to see this youngman play. Newport beat a sound Panther team 61-24, "ARK" had 23 pts(3 for 3, 3 pointers), 11 rebounds,5 asssist, and 5 steals. He so good people and fans are starting to come just to watch him play, there were actually scouts there, someone had stated that he might go to Louisville Trinity, but in reality I think he will be a Wildcat.
